College is a big deal for many students around the world. It is a step up from high school, which you are required by law to finish. College is a special school in which you can earn a diploma and work towards your desired career. Pamela Wissman went to the University of Cincinnati when she was 18 years old. She ended at age 23, then started again at 28.

As a young student, I would often see many college students deeply focused on their work. Seeing them motivated me to learn more and concentrate on the two most important things in life, learning and helping others. I was always interested in learning about Cyber Security and protecting personal data against hackers trying to attack the network. I want to continue my studies through graduate level education in computers. I strongly feel like the Early College Program will help me achieve my goals.
Reflecting on my personal and educational goals I believe UNCW, Wilmington will not only allow me to grow as a student or person, but will create new challenges in my life that will lead to fulfilling my goal of becoming a successful woman someday. Growing up in a small town off the Coast of Maine, I have grown up learning to do things on my own and that things in life aren 't handed to you. Since I was able to work I have been; racking blueberries, hauling lobster traps, digging for clams, working in diners, and much more. I have learned to be independent and to not have to rely on others. The one thing in life I have always wanted is to be able make something of myself and to build a successful future and not have to stress or struggle.
I always asked everyone about college and if they think it is better than High school. Many say that it is hard but, some people think it is better because it is on you. As of right now, I am truly enjoying the college life and working hard and making friends and trying to fit new things. However, this does not come easy for me and it took me a long time to get use to the difference between highs school and college.
Big Academic Goals Have you ever needed a goal to keep you on track. In my essay I will explain my academic goals to make my school year better. If I have academic goal I could do better, and get through the 8th grade. I will be going over three academic goals to help me and maybe others through the 8th grade. Organizing the work is something that could help, by keeping up with the it is easier can to get it done.
Time Management and Finding Balance While Attending College There are many reasons why students do not attend or finish college right after they complete high school. Some people are not necessarily ready to focus on 4 more years of school or some may become skilled in a trade and instead of pursuing a degree, they choose to acquire a skill and earn money. For me it was a combination of not being quite ready to focus on University level courses and not having the financial backing to complete college. At any rate with the invention of the internet and the inter communication that is available now, someone like me, can now work a full time job and still earn credits in college from the comfort of my own home. As comfortable and convenient as it all sounds, there are still quite a few obstacles for achieving your goals while balancing family, career and the demanding schedule of online courses.
Two years into my academic career, I realized I had picked the wrong major. Which is why the last two years at Carthage College I participated in activities and organizations that would allow me to develop my skills in the area of business. College one of the greatest and one of the most important decision of a person’s life. A college decides the what a person studies, the friends that a person will make, and most importantly what a person will do his/her entire life. I chose to come to the New Jersey Institute of Technology to study Computer Science. It has been few weeks since I started college and it has been an experience that I have never felt before. I meet dozens of new people, made many friends, and learned many things from different people.
As a teenager in highschool, you go through many life changing experiences. Beginning as a young freshman to soon be one of the most empowered kids at school, also known as a senior. Senior year is the year you decide on the story of your life past this point! As a freshman, my mind always revolves around the question what year throughout High school is the most significant for the future ahead?. I personally believe 9th grade is definitely signified as the most effective part of your future because that’s the beginning of your life as a teen, determines whether you can handle the next grade or not, and setting goals at the beginning.
My goals have changed a lot over the last couple of years. Bouncing back and forth between majors and deciding if I even want to be taking college classes right now. I kept asking myself why I should struggle with hard classes when I have a good job right now. But then I stopped and repeated “good job right now.” My job as a twenty year old might support me right now but is it going to support me in ten or fifteen years when I’m trying to buy a house and support my family?
College was always one of my long term goals as I continued with my education. Throughout the years I began to work harder and harder so I could secure my future. I knew that getting to college would not be easy. I am about to embark on a four year journey in one of the hardest fields to pursue. I will continue my education as a Nursing major at a four year university.
After highschool, I plan to attend college, I’m not sure where yet, or what exactly I am going to go for. I have learned that money doesn 't buy happiness. I will be in a career that I love first, that I enjoy going to everyday of my life, and one that I can make an impact on this world for the better. School is a key component in my road map for life, because it gets me to my end
Lastly, college will help me learn how to be on my own. I will gain responsibility because I no longer have my parents by my side to cook my meals, clean my room and clothes, or wake me up every morning to go to class. I will be exposed more to life as an adult while making new friends and exploring my interests. In college, there can be many distractions like parties, but I will have to concentrate and study instead of going out. I want to get the best education I can for myself
