My Decision To Write A Cover Letter

When I started the assignment I already had a resume that was for the most part completed. In my experience I already been editing my resume throughout the years by having others making their personal adjustments to the resume. Still having others look at my resume still helps because as I added more information to my resume, I want to make sure that it’s still at its best. In the workshop my reviewers caught some of the mistakes that I made in the format that was inconsistent to the layout. This is important because I believe that if these mistakes were not caught, it probably would cause the person looking at my resume bad opinion of me.

The next process was deciding whether I want to write a cover letter or a personal statement. This decision was important because it decided what opportunity I was going to apply too. Most opportunities in my field are not actually job positions and not necessarily internships even though it has these properties. Undergraduate positions in my field normally consist of lab positions from professors. These position range from formal applications to non-formal depending on the professor.
