My Leadership Philosophy

Aiding others is my way of living. I believe my true philosophy is to help others, despite the matter of difficulty. It’s a personal quality that defines who I want to be. For nearly four years, I have been volunteering at my local church as a group leader. Church has open doors for me to learn and be the best leader I can be. My skills in leadership have allowed me to strive as an advisor for younger teens. Being a group leader has increased my ability to not only be a role model but a true friend. In fact, some of the teens test me time from time when they seek guidance in their life. One particular girl tested my abilites when she was experiencing a difficult time in her life. Each session at church was slowly allowing her to open up to me. I wanted to remind her that I was called to be a group leader for a reason, and that reason was to make a difference in people’s life, no matter the struggle. I want to be the rock that people need when they feel unstable in their life. And In doing so, I made sure I wanted to be that person for her. I started off by advising her to talk to God and pray. Her voice needed to be heard, and what better way than to pray. It’s something that clears the mind and allows one to feel at peace. Sooner or later she was beginning to gain her strength again to move forward with life. I wanted her to understand that whatever it was, she was going through was simply a stage in life waiting to be overcome. I was able to lead her to increase her faith not only in God but in herself. She continued to blossom as a person and move pass this obstacle in her life. As a result , she became group leader and a good friend of mine. Church is my place of true leadership. It’s a place to guide and motivate others to be a leader in what they believe in. Every experience as a group leader is a time lapse of my growth in
