My Observation Of Education In Chancellor Elementary Schools

Chancellor Elementary school is one of the many public school branches in the Alief district. I had they opportunity to observe second grade class at this school. The school structure was similar to the other Alief schools, but the experience of observing second grade students compared to kindergarten was very different. “Chancellor is a place for partnerships: connecting teachers, parents, and community to students and their quest for knowledge.” This mission statement directs much of Chancellor’s goals. They want their students to complete this question the help of qualified teachers and supportive community members. The principal understands that the students quest for knowledge starts with a great teacher. She believes that teacher and students need to work together to learn and acquire knowledge. The school requires their students to be able to meet their grade level requirements every year, so it would be easier for them to transition to the next class. I noticed their efforts when I observed their second grade reading class. The second grade class was very uniquely structure. They don’t have a specific type of child or family. Their goal is to help diverse group of children gain knowledge. I did notice that a lot of children come from families that live near the area. In my opinion, families would be intrigue about the organized structure of the school and that they have a set of rule to handle discipline. There are enough teachers around the area to keep the students discipline without having to involve the parents. The school employs about 120 staff members and many of their teachers have educational degrees and previous training. I believe the highly educated teachers is another aspect parents would be impressed with this
