All students have the possibility to learn and with the proper experience, they will focus. There are many different ways used to build respect and a positive rapport with students. One that has always work is helping the students feel comfortable with the environment. When the environment is positive and comfortable to the students, the student tends to worry less and be natural. Building a positive rapport is not easy and it takes time and dedication.
How Group Members Deepen Their Awareness of their relationships with Self-Disclosure and Feedback In the video, Group Work: Leading in the Here and Now: Part III: Conflict and Summation, Dr. Peg Carroll is leading the group which is experiencing conflict. Lucy explained that she is hurt by the fact that Jean labeled her resistance that later turned to anger to as a game to the group (Association for Specialist, n.d). She is trying to gain an understanding as to why Jean is feeling this way toward the group. Ever since Jean has expressed these feelings to the group Lucy feels that everyone is not on board with the progress they have made thus far.
The first argument we are able to present is how child soldiers are being used to fight wars for rebel groups or the government of third world countries. The first example of this being shown in the text is when the article called “Armed & Underage” by Jeffrey Gettleman we can see this example when he tells us “According to human-rights groups and the United Nations, the Somali government is using hundreds of children, some as young as 9, on the front lines.” This piece of evidence is able to tell us how the Somali government is using children as soldiers on the front lines. Also the article states as young as 9 to fight in wars for them against rebel groups. In fact, we can clearly see how kids are being used as child soldiers as we can clearly tell, but it does show us the age group the kids are being picked up from but also what the government uses these kids to fight wars.
Teamwork is also seen in my schooling. I’ve gone to schools that use group work as a common educational tool. For example,
One of my classes my first at NC State demonstrated this. In COS 100 there is a semester long group project. Having partners who care about their education was a welcome change of pace from previous experience and made the experience enjoyable. I experienced a similar situation in CH 101. Additionally, COS 100 makes the case that working together and communicating is the best way to advance the sciences.
I have found that in most cases I end up doing most of the work as I do not like my grade being affected by others. However, I enjoyed working on Neil Gaiman’s, The Graveyard Book with my group. My group consisted of Donielle Brown, Caitlyn Colby, Melanie Saechao, Lacie Vaughn and myself. I found that our group worked well together with no disagreements or major differences of opinion. I would love to work with my group again in other classes.
Group learning was imperative for my growth as an individual in a society where working with others is inevitable, and an essential ability. Knowing this, I am going to communicate this as much as I can to any students I encounter who are anti-group
Groupthink was a very interesting aspect that I use in my day-to-day. This theory is a phenomenon where people desire consensus within a group. Often than not, people will disregard their own opinion
On our trip to Cedar Glen, I learned many things that will benefit me in the future and help me make important decisions. One of the things I learned is group dynamics and working with other people. My group did many activities, such as logs and marshmallows, that taught us that we shouldn’t just focus on ourselves when completing a task, but also everyone in our group. In both logs and marshmallows, our group made sure everyone got to the other side instead of just themselves, the reason why we accomplished the activity is that we worked together as a team. I also learned that in a group, there could be people who lead a task, maintain a group, or focus on themselves.
It is better to work in a group than alone because two minds are always better than one. Bill Gates once said “ Every time i get the chance, I hire a lazy person to do a job because they will always find an easier way to finish
Students will always have to learn to work together. One problem I might face might be a student who does not want to work in groups. I know there are always students who do not want to work with others, they prefer working alone. When a student refuses to work in groups, I will let the student experience working alone for one day. I will not allow the student to talk to others, which will be a team effort.
It will briefly discuss the feedback from my tutor and the group members. And finally the conclusion. Definition of group According to Berg, Fall, & Landre (2013, p 195) "Group work is a broad professional practice involving the application of knowledge and skill in group facilitation to assist an interdependent collection of people to reach their mutual goals which may be intra-personal, interpersonal, or work related" Planning In order to prepare for our group facilitation exercise, my colleague and I sat together for the first time in class to plan and discussed our understanding of what we thought was expected of us.
Motivation, perception and team work are all vital aspects of a functioning group no matter how big or small. Without these contributions, we cannot achieve the goals. Not only did I learn more about how it is to work in groups, but I also learned something about myself. In the end, the experiences I had, both with the group and individually, was worth it. It prepared me not only in college, but in my future career as well.

Teams that work well together have an understanding of each other's strengths and weaknesses.
It is one of the most effective forms of learning. Working in isolation is very restrictive and gives a slow progress. Critical thinking is also encouraged when learners work in groups. Through collaborative activities such as writing, debates, group projects and more they learn to work together and to respect each other contribution. The traditional relationship between student and teacher is changed with collaborative learning.
