I performed the assessment on January 26th at 9pm, and the assessment is an abbreviation for "Myers–Briggs Type Indicator.” It describes people by dividing several categories such as “Extraversion or Introversion”, “Sensing or Intuition”, “Thinking or Feeling”, and “Judging or Perceiving.” As for me, the result is “ISTJ” which are introversion, sensing, thinking, and judging. The purposes of this assessment are to understand about myself, to build future plans for finding a job, and to improve my relationship with other people.
The combination of characteristics that defines who we are and what we are as a person based on how we think and behave is known as personality. There are different ways psychologists can study different traits and type of personality; personality types involve qualitative behavioral differences between people, whereas personality traits comprises of quantitative differences. Myers-Brig Indicator Type Inventory (MBTI) is directly related to personality types as it reveals different personality types from a set of four personalities: extroversion versus introversion, thinking versus feeling, sensing versus intuition, and perceiving versus judging. Another test, The Big Five Inventory (BFI), is more inclined towards different personality traits including openness, conscientiousness, agreeableness, extraversion, and emotion stability. It explains that there is a gradient leading from one type of personality to the other.

Whilst others think of someone who is directionless and has little forbearance. Although I have all of the traits included in this persona, some of them are less prevalent than others. Despite the fact that many people would think that I don’t know what I’m doing, or I at times seem like I have no purpose, I actually am just caught up in the enigma and possibilities all around me.
The Personality Assessment Inventory (PAI) was designed by Leslie C. Morey in 1991 as an alternative for the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory revised (MMPI-2) to provide relevant information to make a clinical diagnosis, treatment planning, and screening for Axis I and Axis II psychopathology in patients 18 or older. However, the PAI does offer both child and adolescent versions in which a psychologist may utilize this assessment personality on these individuals known as the PIC for children and PAI-A for adolescents. Upon administrating the PAI for the adult population, an individual can expect a duration ranging between 40-50 minutes to complete the PAI and requires a comprehensive reading level between 4th and 6th grade. For sensing versus intuition, everyone agreed that I have a moderately more preference for sensing. The next dimension, thinking versus feeling, was the one duality where there were a range of answers. Me and my classmate both scored more for feeling. My co-worker gave me a score that showed I strongly prefer thinking and my sister gave me an X, showing I don’t have a preference. Due to the range of the scores, I decided it was best to meet in the middle, thus giving myself a score of X. Finally, for the duality of judgement versus perception, everyone agreed that I have a stronger preference for judgement.
Myers-Briggs personality indicator is not only beneficial to help you better understand yourself, but it is also useful for understanding others. When you take the typology test, you gain a letter for each of the four categories. I was an ESFP and wasn’t surprised at all because those characteristics are obvious in me. There is only two letters for each category, so you can either get one or the other. Since I was an ESFP the letters I didn’t get were I, N, T, and J.
According to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator/Jung's Typology Test results, I have a slight preference of Extraversion over Introversion at 9%, I have a slight preference of Intuition over Sensing at 16%, I have a moderate preference of Feeling over Thinking at 34%, and I have a moderate preference of Judging over Perceiving at 31%. I feel as though these results are very accurate. The only section that I don’t completely agree with would be the “Judging over Perceiving” aspect of the test. Relating more with being an extrovert rather than an introvert makes me more personable than some, therefore I attract more people. I do believe that I am certainly more emotional than logical in many aspects of my life, especially when it comes to loved ones.

Individuals who prefer sensing, experience the world using their five senses. Sensing individuals observe carefully, gather facts, and focus on practical actions (The Myers & Briggs Foundation, n.d.). Individuals who prefer intuition read between the lines, focus on the meaning of things, and view the world through possibilities (The Myers & Briggs Foundation, n.d.). Intuitive people use body language and tones of voice as clues to a conversation, and are creative thinkers (The Myers & Briggs Foundation, n.d.).

The terms introversion and extraversion were first popularized by Carl Jung, although both the popular understanding and psychological age differ from his original intent. Extraversion tends to be manifested in outgoing, talkative, energetic behavior, whereas introversion is manifested in more reserved and solitary behavior. Extraversion and introversion are typically viewed as a single continuum. Thus, to be high on one it is necessary to be low on the other.
