I am most attracted to Loma Linda University’s mission to make man whole and continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ and its commitment to faith and science. As a Seventh-day Adventist christian, the motto to make man whole has never been more personal than it is now. As I grow in my experience as a christian, to further the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus continues to take center stage. This mission and an understanding of the need for whole person care is something I seek to demonstrate and encourage through my profession as a nurse and involvement in my community.
As a prospective member of the Masters of Arts in History program at Liberty University I hope to accomplish several things. I am currently serving as a high school history teacher and this program will benefit both my students and myself alike in the foreseeable future. This includes reaching the goals of earning my master’s degree which will result in a higher level of professional knowledge in my content area, while increasing my income simultaneously. This is not the only positive factor, Liberty’s program will also contribute directly to growth in regards to my relationship with Jesus Christ.
I see myself being an engaged member of the WCU and Brinson Honors College community by being involved in community service opportunities, becoming a member of leadership organizations, and taking advantage of opportunities to study and serve in a different country or to participate in undergraduate studies. I plan to be engaged in the WCU community by being involved in all that I can be involved in. Specifically, I hope to become involved in at least one of the faith-based groups on campus, such as the Baptist Student Fellowship at WCU or the Campus Crusade for Christ. Becoming involved in faith-based organizations is important to me and will allow me to love God and love people better by learning more about God and participating in service projects that will share his love and truth. Additionally, I want to join a local Church family, where I hope to serve in various aspects of the Church, especially those that involve children, something that I am passionate about.
I have worked so hard in school waiting for a moment like this. UNCW would be a great challenge for me, but it would also help me out immensely. UNCW has a excellent education program and that is exactly the field of study I aim to go into. I spent approximately half of my sophomore year at the early college tutoring at Dobson Elementary. I cherished every second helping my fifth grade class.
The University of Miami offers many selective majors and minors for students. I am eager to start a new chapter and gain many opportunities, and experiences with a high-level education from the University of Miami. The reason I want to transfer to the University is because it’s time for me to move on to a bigger environment. Furthermore, I would like to participate in the most honorable athletic programs in the country. I believe the culture at Miami would be a good fit for me because of the diverse student body on campus.
I have always retained a keen passion in learning about medicine and dreamed about becoming a pediatrician. As I learned more about NYU, I fell more in love with the university, aspiring to one day step into the halls of the school and make my mark. I believe it was the perfect place for me to start my pre-medical studies into one day becoming a doctor. When I first ventured in and around NYU in New York City, my eyes sparkled at the marvel of the campus. It is not one's typical campus.
I always knew NYU was meant for me. After getting rejected as a first-time freshman, I did not get easily discouraged, instead, I devoted two amazing learning years to nursing prerequisites at Cypress College, viewing this setback as an opportunity for growth and improvement in all aspects of my life. As I wrap up my journey at community college to take the next step in my life, I ask myself, “How will I be able to make a difference in healthcare and make efforts to positively change my community?” As a first-generation college student who's been surrounded by Hispanics throughout my life, I know how stubborn and scared my community is to get the medical attention they need and deserve. I plan on it being my first, not final, opportunity to study abroad. As a Political Science major and possible double major in International Relations, I truly believe traveling will set me up for success in my Syracuse education and in my future career. By directly experiencing other cultures, it allows for a deeper understanding of worldwide perspectives, which is essential for someone studying diplomacy and global politics. Likewise, it will enable me to develop connections with peers, professionals, and academia from around the world. It is my belief that I will take what I gain from my experiences abroad and then apply it to my honors courses at Syracuse.
I believe as a returning student to ISU, I had a unique experience in the class. I graduated with a degree in Child, Adult, and Family Services in May and decided that teaching was my true passion so I returned to Iowa State to begin earning that degree. I have worked for about four years for United Community Schools as a Lead Childcare Associate and as a Substitute Associate in both preschool and special education. Additionally, I have spent time as a Special Education Associate in Ankeny and have volunteered in Ames Community School District Classrooms. With my experience, I have spent a lot of time in schools and in classrooms.

My upbringing was humble, and I was fortunate to have a healthy environment conducive to my education. However, that was the extent of my parents’ support.
Learning and Scholarship are critical values to all students, but throughout my time at ISU, I have gained a much deeper appreciation for the idea of being a lifelong learner. The programs for Special Education at ISU are some of the best and have offered me more ways to learn than I originally thought imaginable, and have inspired me to explore my educational possibilities in the future. Through my clinical experiences, coursework, and experiences outside of the classroom, I have gained a deeper appreciation for what it means to work in special education. Membership in Ball State University's Honors College presents an opportunity for me to be surrounded by peers who share a similar commitment to academic excellence. I spent the past four years in Global Awareness and Model United Nations Clubs and plan to examine the topic more in depth in college. I have attended multiple conferences hosted by Penn and current Penn students and aspire to continue my involvement in Model UN through Penn’s International Affairs Association and ILMUNC. I aim to further expand my interest in not only global affairs, but the natural sciences is through Penn Abroad. Among all Ivy League Universities, Penn is ranked number one for the most students studying abroad. Penn fosters an environment that supports travel and immersion into different cultures, an important aspect of my intellectual interests.
The heart of New York City is New York University. By joining the network of NYU, I will be able to study at an institution that has a long tradition of academic excellence among private universities in the United States. Additionally, I will be able to be part of an internationally recognized learning network with locations all across the globe. It would be a pleasure to study at a globally recognized university. A friend of mine who is a recent graduate from NYU College of Nursing has praised the program and conveyed to me a very positive experience.
I have always had a fascination with the world around me and its cultures. Whenever I get a chance to learn about the people of the world, I try to absorb all I can about them. A chance to be a part of a program that is encircled in learning about humanities civilizations and achievements is a great opportunity in my mind. This addition to my college experience will enhance it in more than one way. My interactions with students from all around Molloy will be a great moment for me to make long lasting friendships.
