Netflix Inc. According to internet solutions Sadnvine’s reporting, the overwhelming leader for downloaded video traffic in the US and Canada falls into the category of an online video site. It’s not You Tube, it’s the online video site called Netflix. (Gutelle, S 2013) Netflix’s accounts streams 1/3 of downloaded internet traffic in homes of US and Canada. This makes Netflix the leader in eating up bandwidth. When Netflix offered the “Watch Now” feature in addition to disc-rental service everyone thought it was a great idea. The “Watch Now” provided instant access to thousands different titles of movies and TV shows. This was offered via your internet browser. Randolph and Hastings came together to develop Netflix. Randolph came up with the idea while he was researching to develop a company that sells something over the internet.
