Currently, I work as an Associate Specialist in the Construction Management department at Consolidated Edison of New York, a Regulated Utility Company that provides electricity, steam and gas services to the New York State and Westchester area. The company consists of approximately 15,000 employees and with a company as big as such, there are several organizational issues, even with a culture of fairness, respect and inclusion. There is no work environment that is conflict free. Regardless of what organization you work for, organizational issues are constantly present. The current organizational issues within my workplace are difference in employees’ dynamics, distrust in corporate values and organizational dysfunctions. As indicated by Newstrom, my present workplace is counterculture "subgroup of people inside the bigger society, whose qualities, standards and conduct are significantly diverse" (Newstrom, 2015, pg.104) that causes a cultural issue. Therefore, as a company expands, issues within the work environment increases. When it comes to "organizational culture" (Newsome, 2015), there are some belief systems in my working environment that frequently cause issue.
