Nintendo should stop removing fan games from the internet. Not only do fan projects promote game franchises, but also they incorporate many new features and reimagine important aspects. Nintendo has always removed fan games from the internet even though they are prone to accomplishing more than official Nintendo games. Over the years, fan projects such as Another Metroid 2 Remake and Pokémon Uranium have caused little to no harm to Nintendo financially.
Firstly, fan projects bring thousands of new fans to the game franchise. One of the biggest reasons for this is the fact that fan projects are free to play. If the developer(s) behind a fan project charged people to play their recreation, then it would be illegal. This is due to fan projects using assets from officially copyrighted games. Consequently, many people are introduced to a game franchise by playing an excellent fan project. If people come along looking for a free game to play, then play one spectacular fan project, they may be impressed by what the game has to offer.
