As we all know climate change is a big topic in the political world and also in classrooms today. There have been different views on this issue because there are people who don’t see the impact climate change is doing to the earth. An issue like this is important because over the past century, the earth has been changing and the changes can be seen all over the world especially in North Carolina. Although climate and climate change are usually presented in global mean terms, there may be large local and regional departures from these global means. These can either mitigate or exaggerate the impact of climate change in different parts of the world (National Research Council, 2001). This essay is going to argue on the side that climate change has a big impact on North Carolina’s weather change, sea levels, and other topics. …show more content…
North Carolina is known to have the most complex climate of any state on the east coast of the United States because of its latitude and topography (Huxley, 2005). North Carolina temperature changes all the time. During the winter the temperature usually lowers but it is still considered relatively warmer than the previous winter. According to state records indicate that the average temperature in Chapel Hill has risen by 1.2oF over the last one hundred years (Huxley, 2005). That might not seem like it’s a big jump but it shows you an example of what will happen in the future. The key elements that influence the weather in the state are the interaction between warm and cold waters off the coast, the large variation in altitude from east to west, and a location that puts it under the influence of tropical cyclonic storms (including hurricanes) that form in the eastern Atlantic (Huxley, 2005). Warmer weather, with wind playing a big factor, can help with water resources to deplete at a faster rate and wildfires to spread even
