This Profile/Report identifies the agency Novas as an agency that helps some of the most vulnerable people in our society through many different projects and methods of support. Many are presenting to the agency for various reasons. Risk of homelessness, homelessness, addiction, mental health, family breakdown. Working to keep the family unit together in their own home. Novas carry out a needs assessment, a support plan is put in place in order to prevent homelessness and secure tenancy. This service works to improve the lives of the whole family, particularly the children. Each year a Christmas party is put on for the children to ensure that every child receives a present on Christmas morning and in the summer an outing is organised because the reality is that for many of these children this trip could be the first time out of the city. Housing First Housing first is an international model of accommodation provision for formerly homeless individuals, with very successful outcomes. It supports homeless people access independent accommodation in the community and provides wraparound supports in their own homes. It has a success rate of between 80 and 90%. Novas’ Housing First Team offers a range of supports to tenants and landlords including a dedicated support team, rent collection arrangements, a 24/7 on-call system and an internal maintenance team. This important part where by promoting the different campaigns the agency gets its name out there and all the work they do to encourage people to volunteer and donate. Through liaison work it is a way of looking at other agencies and seeing what works and doesn’t work. Teamwork plays a huge part in how projects get delivered and the great care that is given. Teamwork ensures the service users get the best possible care. setting goals and achieving them is easier when the social care work with the different groups. A social care worker needs to have certain qualities to do the best they can do. Confidentiality – Never speaking about a service users situation outside work.
