In this generation, people look at obesity as a choice. Genetically, people struggle with obesity everyday of their life and people do not realize how big of a toll it takes on their everyday life. It is not a permanent disease I just have to continue to work hard. Studies have shown that depression can lead to the onset of obesity. Some people deal with depression and anxiety by overeating which can lead to severe obesity if they don’t seek help by counseling or a licensed professional that specializes in mental health. Also, it is proven that night eating can cause obesity because your cortisol levels elevate. If you do get hungry at night, it is best to eat a healthy snack such as fruits or vegetables. I personally struggle with obesity everyday and I always have. It is not an easy task to deal with when you have friends who can wear cute clothes and bikinis in the summer and you can’t feel comfortable walking around like that in public like they do. I continue to exercise and try to eat healthy knowing I will never be as small as I would like, but you can change. Being obese puts children at a greater risk of being bullied, the percent has risen up to 63% for being more likely to get bullied than someone who is not obese. Obesity affects children more socially than adults because they are learning about how to get friends and what they want to do in their future.
