The book, "Of Mice and Men," written by John Steinbeck, was published in 1937. He tells the story of two people named Lennie and George, and they both were really good friends at the beginning of the story. George and Lennie were walking to a nearby ranch where harvesting jobs are available. Lennie had to be handicapped because he was mentally ill, and George had to make decisions for him. Their connection is great, and "George is a good friend and Lennie, that George cares for him." In the novel, George and Lennie's relationship is complex and different from the others, yet it has deep bonds, memories, and a family connection.
