The paper analyzes the management style found in One Smooth Stone, a company that produces theatrical pieces or provides guest speakers for corporate events. Despite the decentralized system found at OSS, there are signs of Mintzberg's and Katz’s managerial roles. After the analysis of the management style found at OSS, the analysis shifts to a comparison of the management found in OSS and a matriarchal single parent household and the management theories used in both organizations. Mark and Gary’s focus organization, so that they are well-rounded on making sure that the organization is achieving their goals. They show this in the way of promoting a positive relationship between trust and their organization. They allow their team, and they work together to make sure that they are in control. They illustrate that they are not only there to serve their clients but their employees to have strong internal perspective. They take the time to help to create their values and culture providing strong work ethics. Their organizational structure is flat and very much decentralized allows decisions to be made. Ledogar describes the three main values the One Smooth Stone holds the entire company’s motto is “Smart, Fast and with Kindness.” The other values that are important to the company include mutual trust, hard work, and the freedom to think outside of the box, so they can get the job done the right way and have fun doing it. Smart is being able to get the best resources, applying the best techniques to your project and choosing the strategy in what you’re presenting to the performance of your client. Fast is making sure that everything is up to date on all current events, getting the project done on time too. Kindness is telling us that, we need to be respectful to anyone working on the project, contractors, co-workers and the client’s representatives.
