Terrorism has been one of the United States most controversial topics and has been described by the public as strategic tactics, a crime of holy duty, a justified reaction to oppression, and an inexcusable abomination. Terrorism has been taking aim at America for over two consecutive decades. Examples would be the Lebanon Barracks bombing, the bombing of a German disco frequented by America Service men, and even the recent terrorist attack of the Boston bombing. Why does terrorism even exist? The Islamists despise the entire western hemisphere. One of the most commonly known terrorist attacks was 9/11. On September 11, 2001, there were a series of attacks launched by the Islamic terrorist group Al-Qaeda upon the United States in New York City. These attacks killed 2, 996 people and caused at least $10 billion in property damage. Two viewpoints on this issue can be differed from the ideologies of conservatives and liberals. Conservatives feel that terrorism is strongly one of the greatest opposing threats to American interests. They feel that in order to stop terrorism, the use of force with military weaponry and reinforcements are needed excessively. The Islamics feel that they cannot co-exist with America because of how its government is set up. Terrorism goes back to the battling of the second world war from 1940-1945. Liberals viewpoints on terrorism is that that they feel the rise of terrorism is because of the United States arrogance and foreign policy. The only way to beat terrorism is through good diplomacy where the representatives or diplomats agree on a public affair issue and make a peaceful negotiation. Moreover, terrorism shouldn’t be resolved with violence or the use of military force. This could escalate the situation into even a huger issue that could get the general public involved.
