Diagnostic Method Organizational diagnostics are an essential and effective way of determining the gap between the current performance and the desired performance. This is done by viewing an organization and its constructions and how it does or does perform as well as looking at specific areas or task that may not be meeting the performance level. The main purpose of performing a diagnostic analysis is to detect problems that the organization is facing and to identify their effects so that management can begin to plan solutions and begin taking action. For example the lamination plant at B.R. Ratcherman required lumber and employees, in order to produce their product of custom made laminated trusses and beams. Around the period of the case, the environment that the lumber marketplace was in was an environment that was very unpredictable but continuously growing as the economy begun to stabilize. This was important to the environment of the company because one of their main goals was to maximize everything they could possibly maximize and more importantly their profits every year using lumber. The second method utilized was the SWOT analysis. A SWOT analysis is composed up of four things. The first thing that it is composed of being the strengths that cover everything the company is doing correctly. This section will also take a look into the strengths internal to the organization as well as the external strengths in the company such as client relationships (Tenney & Marquis, 2017). The second part of the SWOT analysis is the opposite of the strengths, the weaknesses.
