The podcast about a person who is involved in economic development, John Augustine, is an interesting one. He is the president of Penn’s Northeast which is the economic development entity in the Northeastern Pennsylvania. Penn Northeast is regional economic development organization. He works with multiple counties. He goes out and locate new businesses to bring the Northeastern Pennsylvania to grow economy. I think this is a good idea because the new businesses bring stability to the economy therefore it helps the economy.
The CEO of Penn Northeast’s journey began when he got an internship. During the internship, he learned a lot and was good at interet things. He was really interest in the internet world. John Augustine graduated from King’s College, a local college located in Wilkes-Barre, PA. He engaged with students from King’s College and Penn State for internships. Augustine worked for 4 years. This is gigantic number and I am surprised of this many students that are interested in the business industry. He train’s students and educate the parents about tomorrow's future. Augustine predicts that everything will be robotic, his interest in internet things reveals that he indeed thinks that robots are going be the next big thing and they are going to have full control of everything in the world. In the podcast, he says that families need to understand the possibilities of working in the business in the future. He wants people to go on Penn Northeast’s website. He didn't get amazon’s way but he wants to grow another amazon in the backyard. He thinks it is possible to and he is willing to welcome and invite any members. He is partnered with big brand names and important brand names like PPL, UGI, and also PNC
