This paper is a detailed outlook of the life of educators, specifically elementary educators. There are a few things that one must obtain before becoming an educator. Going into this field consists of the following: enjoying the presence of youth, making a difference in someone’s life, and helping others along the way. Elementary educators are at the base of the pyramid of success. They are responsible for educating future lawyers, doctors, scientists, and entrepreneurs. The field of education may even further one to become a school administrator, university professor, school counselor, or principal. Elementary school teachers provide knowledge to students about all subjects. Because educators have to teach about all subjects, they are required to take pre-major courses. Those who aspire to be elementary teachers are required to complete courses related to teaching methods and professional courses. Those specific courses are needed so that they can adapt to motivating children. Elementary teaching programs also train graduates to set student fulfilment and make use of technology in the curriculum. While in an education program, students receive internships. Interns are like apprentices; they get hands-on experience. The experience obtained can be exemplified throughout the workplace. Teachers are required to obtain certain certification. When going through teacher certification, potential educators get licensed to teach within a given area after completing required work, tests, degrees, and other specified criteria. To prepare for teacher certification, all who certify require a degree from college, a completion of certain education courses, and teaching experience. One may confirm by the state in which he or she wishes to educate in and earn certification agreed upon in all of the states. Licensing and certification requirements vary in different states. According Ben and Adrian (2002) is stated as quoted, “Mississippi has different qualifications and intentions. Those qualifications include Five Year Educator License, Traditional Teacher Education Route, Class A, AA, AAA, and AAAA. All Mississippi teachers must pass the Praxis 1 Basic Skills Test in reading (score of 170 required), writing (172) and mathematics (169). These are usually given as being part of the enrollment process in your university or college’s teacher preparation program.
