1184 Words5 Pages

Fall semester definitely had its up’s and downs and many obstacles I had to overcome. As a Peer Mentor I had to learn to appreciate my hardwork much more than I did before. I also learned that speaking up a lot is key if I want to see change or get my opinion across. One of my goals for the semester as a Peer Mentor was to get to know my peer mentees on a friendship level or maybe as acquaintances. That goal actually came true in a way because I only made three acquaintances out of 18 peer mentees. Another goal I had was to go outside of my comfort zone a little, I really did not like to talk in front of the class or even present. In regards to that, as a Peer Mentor I had to stand in front of the class more than once throughout …show more content…

I would say totally eliminate evaluations by peer mentees, I say this because of the position that I am in. I did not really get to interact with my Peer Mentors as much as others, so maybe some of their evaluations would not be as accurate as others. I say this because I thought I tried really hard as a Peer Mentor and put my best foot forward and tried to get them to interact with me. I say eliminate because their evaluations at the end of the day will truly affect future Peer Mentors grades. I thought they were all great students, very open minded and I thought they really tried really hard at everything they did in IND 101. They were also the students that participated the most in IND 101, and they were also the students that stood out the most to me in the class. They also seemed they would be the great Peer Mentors because they outspokenness and they seemed that they will really care for their peer mentees. Also Lucas and Jose would be addition to Peer Mentors that is primarily females. All three of them have different personalities that are very unique. They were also the students that if they needed help in IND 101, needed to know what the homework was or needed help with registrations , that they spoke up and asked me for help. Lucas is one of the students who enjoys making sure everyone is enjoying their time, also making sure everyone is integrated into the class. Like for instance, when they were doing their project he told me I should join their group and help out with it , because I was just sitting their watching them. . Lucas is also taking six classes so he can help teach future mentees in how to balance all of your work and enjoy the college experience. Jose is the type of
