There is such a diversity in the work environment when it comes to employees that any supervisor or manager must figure out how each person can work together to continue having a healthy work environment. This is true in any environment. When managers or leaders within the healthcare setting must find ways to make sure each employee fits within the team it can take a toll on everyone that is trying to make a good team great. After the first shift and receiving the various complaints, a detailed written account of the incident and the frequency of incidents should be monitored to help determine if a patter is developing (American Nurses Association, 2015, page 10). Confronting the co-worker by bringing Ms. Grump into the office away from co-workers, etc. to discuss the cause of the complaints and the issues should happen as soon as possible. Sitting one-on-one with Ms. Grump and listening to her problems may help her work out her problems and then discussing how her behavior is causing numerous issues. At this point, the established policies and procedures should be brought up to Ms. Gump and discussed so she knows that this type of behavior is not tolerated. It is also recommended to seek support and/or guidance from a supervisor, employee assistance program, or human resources (American Nurses Association, 2015).
