Plenty of spectators of lacrosse are not cognizant of the work ethic that goes into being an offensive player in lacrosse, like the time that goes into the endless training on the uneven wall in your backyard in hope of improving in any way possible. They don’t notice the finesse that gets put into perfectly string up a stick in the pursuit of making it performs the way the player wants it while still retaining legality. Grinding in order to perform to be the best possible player, through both equipment and skill, is something that is not perceived by someone and mostly goes unnoticed. Through the playing of offense in lacrosse and taking the PSAT, these two both have similar means of ensuring a fair regulation toward the people carrying out the actions through the ensuring of fair participation. Lacrosse shows how it guarantees fair performance on the offensive side of the ball because prior to the start to every game, the referees conduct a stick check for every athlete. Through the checking of each stick before a game the referees maintain the fairness of the game and make sure each team conforms to even play when it comes to their equipment. Through sticks, players could cheat or give their stick an illegal amount of “hold”, or in easier terms they can hold the ball in an unfair fashion. . Similar to the offensive side of lacrosse, taking the PSAT also shows how teachers regulate the fairness of the students taking it. The PSAT regulates fairness through the checking of equipment because prior to the taking of the PSAT, teachers check calculators in order to make sure no answers hidden in the calculators somewhere. Through the checking of the calculators by the teachers, they exhibit similar ways of how they carry themselves as if a referee. These actions both ensure fair play and make sure no one has an advantage. In addition to playing the offense in lacrosse and taking the PSAT, these two activities also have similar ways of managing time and energy during their specific events. In addition to the PSAT having similar regulations to lacrosse, it also has similar ways of managing time and energy. The PSAT manages time and energy through the breaks that intercede in between sections. These breaks occur in order for bathroom breaks and to stretch.
