Pancho Villa was known as a bandit and a murderer, but there is much more to him through his dark past. Villa was a top military leader in the mexican revolution. He was born on June 5, 1878 in San Juan Del Rio, Durango Mexico. He was assassinated on July 20, 1923 in Parral Mexico. Early in his childhood his dad died, leaving him in charge of the house at a young age. He also killed a man at the age of fifteen. Pancho Villa was a great revoluary of his time, He was always rebelling to make Mexico the best place possible.
Pancho Villa killed a man at the age of fifteen, he spent six years on the run. He joined a group of fugitives and became a bandit. Pancho joined Francisco madero successful uprising against mexican dictator Porfirio Diaz.They drove Diaz out of power and Madero became president. After General Victoriano Huerta accused Villa of stealing his horse, Villas execution was set but Madero was able to grant Villa reprieve before his execution, but Villa still had to serve prison time in June 1912. After escaping in december , it was clear that Huerta was against Madero. But then a few months later Madero was assassinated on february 22, 1913. Huerta became the president of Mexico. Villa fought a lot of battles for the liberation of Mexico. Villa loved Mexico and the people so much that he once said “My sole ambition is to rid Mexico of the class that has oppressed her and given the people a chance to know what real liberty means. And if I could bring that about today by giving up my life, I would gladly”(villa). When Pancho was assassinated the people of Mexico were devastated.
