For 30 years, Papa John’s has maintained their presence by being driven to make a quality product from the box to the dough (About Papa John’s, 2015). Strategy is defined as, top management’s plan to develop and sustain competitive advantage to fulfill the organization’s mission (Bethel, 2015). Thus, the top management, including John Schnatter, has made fulfilling the mission their primary focus.

Like any other company, Papa John’s has opportunities both external and internal to the organization. Notably, Papa John’s has been focused on growing their international presence, increasing their technological improvements and advancements, and improving operations (Bowling, 2013). Comparatively, Papa John’s did not become the world’s third largest pizza delivery company and number one in customer satisfaction, by being complacent (Salloum, 2016).
