Pastafarianism or Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is a social movement that promotes a light-hearted view of religion and opposes the teaching of intelligent design and creationism in public schools. Though adherents describe Pastafarianism as a genuine religion, most believe it as a fake or pseudo religion.
This religion was first described in a satirical letter written in 2005 by Bobby Henderson a 24 year old Oregon State University physics graduate, this letter was used to protest the Kansas State Board of Education to permit teaching intelligent design as alternate to public school science classes. He professed his belief that whenever a scientist carbon dates an object, the supernatural creator is that looks like spaghetti and meatballs is "changing the results with His Noodly Appendage". The religion has received both criticism and praise from the scientific community, and is used in disputes with creationists. Since the existence of the invisible and undetectable Flying Spaghetti Monster like other supernatural beings it cannot be found to be false. This topic was used to dissuade the Polk County School Board on taking in new standards of science evolution. Pastafarianism is also used to help protest the Freedom of religion and to oppose government discrimination against the people who don’t follow a standard faith. The Pastafarian conception the afterlife includes both a Heaven and Hell. Heaven includes a beer volcano and brothels. The Pastafarian Hell is similar, except that the beer is stale and the ecdysiast have diseases.
