Through this whole course I feel like one method that really helped me was are class room methodologies. Peer reviewing, having students teach the grammar sections, and our simple classroom policies, are the methodologies that really helped me succeed in this course. Each student has the opportunity to have his or her paper looked at by our professor and classmates. At first, I was hesitant about this due to the fact that I have a hard time getting up in front of the class. After a few class periods I realized how beneficial doing this could be. I think seeing other student’s mistakes definitely helped me. The second classroom methodology that I liked was having the students teach the grammar lessons. I enjoyed this because it made the class more enjoyable and interesting. Instead of having to sit and listen to a professor ramble on about grammar, we got the opportunity to be involved in the class and teach. Of course, this didn’t come without a cost. For us to continue doing this we simply had to do our work. Throughout the class there were a couple situations where our class came close to blowing this opportunity. Blowing this opportunity would have been really bad considering the punishment was to take a test. The no test policy in this class definitely benefited me. In pervious English classes my grade has always been affected due to test and quizzes. Having the privilege of neither not taking test nor quizzes has given me the ability to strictly focus on my essays. Furthermore, not taking test has benefited my grade and improved my overall writing performance. Lastly, are classroom polices also helped me succeed in this course. Between Professor Mackinder’s grading policy and strict attendance policy, it didn’t take long to understand how the class was
