It's been years since I kicked the ball around, but I'll never stop loving the game both as a player and as a fan. I've learned so much through practices, all-star tournaments, and half-time snacks that are impossible to let go of. Competing in soccer taught me more than the rules of play; it provided me with tools that quickly translate into other aspects of my life. Soccer requires quick thinking, fast action, and the ability to work as a team. In life, you become part of many teams, from family units to groups of coworkers. These people rely on you, and you on them, to meet certain goals, such as completing a task or finishing a project on time. By playing offense, I also learned how show leadership and to create and sustain work relationships.
