I started pitching and the game had begun. I was nervous and my first couple warm up pitches were rough. I thought it was going to be a long game with the way I was already struggling.
A couple of our guys got on, but then I was up to bat. I was so excited. I got up there and decided that I was going to take the first pitch (not swing at it) to get my timing to make sure I get a hit. Ball one, I step out of the box taking another practice cut. I got back in the box and waited for the next one.
I was dishearten and I began to question myself. If I was not playing because I’m not experienced like the rest or If it was because I’m much shorter than everyone else. I was self doubting myself If I was even good enough to be on the team. I was not going to quit and the next game came faster than I expected. Thursday night and for the third time in a row I was not mentioned in the starting line up.
I asked my mother if she could give me some money to buy a ticket to the MAC Championship so I could go see Western Michigan Football play. I asked for this because I have very little money in my bank account due to student loans and the cost of college. Surprisingly the overall response was excellent she was very nice and said of course who knows if they will be back again next year. The result was I received the money to buy a
Where Berent, Cael, Trevor, Xavier, and I drove up to play for the state cup. The rest of the team was with their parents but we decided to carpool to save money. We were all joking around until we figured out that we were going to play the older tempo team, Tempo Blaze. At first, we thought that this would be a sweep, that we would win the whole tournament without worrying, but know we have to play the team that has never lost this year and we have never beaten for as
Then the first pitch of the game was thrown and the crowd was roaring. Our pitcher was throwing heat he stuck out the first two batters and the third batter grounded out to the short stop. It was a one two three inning and it was our time to start getting the bats going. We were up and their pitcher was what seemed to be unstoppable he was pitching about 80 miles per hour and we just couldn’t touch him.
On a cold, frosty, snow cover night in November at Welcome Home Stadium, was when my life changed. That night, two teams played for the chance to call themselves champions of 6th-grade football. All game, my team and I battled against the mighty Wilmington Hurricanes. We fought all game to win and finally we got the ball back with less than under a minute left and down by 4 points. The crowd was quieter than a church mouse as my coaches huddled us up during a timeout, and in that timeout, my coaches looked to me for answers.
While I tried to get good sleep the night before my game I kept getting negative vibes like you won 't make it or you 're gonna lose but all I wanted and needed was to be positive. Then I woke up the next morning feeling greater than ever now I had a good feeling we would play well! I got to school and waited and waited till it was time to get on the bus and leave to Franklin Middle School. The bus ride was fun we sang and just had a lot of fun when we got there we started warming up I was actually pumped to of made it too the championship game.
Strikeout. Taleigh, our third baseman, is up now. Another strikeout. “This is it,” I thought to myself. “This is my last game.
Did I really want another season of name calling? After school, I told my mom about baseball sign ups and the new coach. I explained how excited Josh was because this coach was really good. Mom thought working with this coach might help me not be afraid of the ball.
I have been waiting since the start of summer for this day, the day to go against Topeka West the school that have been talking stuff for the longest. There was so much hype about this game and it was finally here, when the bell ringed at the end of the day i rushed out of class and got on the bus to head over to chandler our practice field. When we got there we all the football players loaded off the bus and when we got off there was a table of chips, water, gatorade,PB & J and fruit snacks so we didn’t play on an empty stomach. After we ate and got ready coach talk to us for a little bit and then we got on the bus to head to Hummer sports park, it was a loud bus
My heart started pounding despite knowing that this could happen all along. I warmed up on the mound with about 8 pitches, then the umpire asked if I was
Towards the end of the school year after my success on the baseball field lead to my summer coach asking me to play for his summer team again, I thought to myself, maybe I’ll prove to him I am good enough to play in Florida and surpass his expectations. So the summer starts the first game I sit, the next game I sit, then finally the last game of the tournament I sit. At this point I asked him, “why did I not get a chance to pitch?” he said, well there are too many pitchers to get you in this tournament. I said okay thinking nothing of it.
Happy NBA Season everyone! It’s opening night, so there’s only three games and I usually don’t do picks on nights like these but I can’t help myself.
I was getting ready for the game. This game was going to be the biggest game of the season. Both of us were undefeated. And who even won this game would have a very high chance in getting into the playoffs. We needed to win this game.
