Personal Narrative: Before Fall Semester

I don 't know what you will think of me, Claudia, and my husband, Jack, after hearing this cautionary tale of struggle, achievement, success, betrayal, murder, and undying love. Most likely, you will come to the conclusion that Jack and I are a couple of sociopaths who probably should have never coupled to begin with. If you come away from this thinking that, well, I will understand; however, if after you hear what I have to tell you, you come to the conclusion that all things happen for important reason and purpose, then this story I dedicate to you, and hope that fate is as kind to you as it has been to Jack and me. My story opens in the autumn of 1981. The beginning of my sophomore year at the University of Maryland was shaping up to be quite routine and uneventful. Before Fall Semester began, With one year of college studies under my belt, I had prepared myself for the next round of rigorous and demanding, migraine prompting, neurosis causing dose of academia. Although he possessed the look of a movie star from years gone by, after eyeing him from the double-doored entrance, my heart didn 't pound like a drum in my chest, and my knees didn 't shake uncontrollably beneath me. No, none of those things happened as often depicted in movies and romance novels. On the contrary, our first meeting came as a result of a thunderstorm that just happened to force me to seek shelter
