A couple of years ago on a Saturday, I had my own brush with death experience, like the ones in the movies. I was driving home one night, not paying close enough attention to the road and going almost twenty miles over the speed limit. I drove down that same road millions of times it seemed like, when out of nowhere a deer came across the road. I tried my best to swerve so that I wouldn 't hit the deer. The next thing I remember is waking up in a hospital room the next morning surrounded by nurses and some family members. I was in the CICU, critical intensive care unit. I remembered swerving to not hit the deer, but other than that it was all blank. She said that once I swerved, I ran off the road and hit the ditch, which made my car jump and hit a tree about 8 feet in the air. The fire department and ambulance came to my aid, since I smashed into a tree, they needed to get the jaws of life to pry open my car to be able to get me out. Once out they flew me to Greenville Hospital. All before I woke up that morning, I was already taken to have x rays and scans done to check for any broken bones or any internal bleeding. After a couple hours of laying in bed, in the CICU room, a doctor finally came to tell me the extent of my injuries. He told me during the crash, I broke my left femur, left humorous and fractured my C7 vertebrae. The doctor then proceeded to explain that they were going to perform surgery on my leg and arm. That they were going to insert a rod in my leg and a plate in my arm. After the operations were finished and I was back into a regular room, I was able to have friends and family visit. It was very comforting to know that so many people were there to see me. The next day, a physical therapist walked in and helped me to walk while using a walker and also helped me to move and rotate my
