Unsatisfactory From a young age to today, I have heard countless strangers ask me, “Tell me about yourself,” curious about my name, age, and ethnicity. I, along with millions of students, have written a massive number of reports and essays throughout the school years but I have never pondered about how I view myself as an English student. Given the prompt, I believe the kind of English student that I am today is reflected upon my interests, background, and experience. Both authors, plus the people that were mentioned in the texts, went through several hardships that were unimaginable. I felt mixed feelings while being absorbed within the events happening in these writings. I gained more of an insight of how people who grew up in poverty with careless parents became very successful in the twenty-first century. My stomach and chest would feel like they are twisting whenever I know that it would be my turn to demonstrate to give an oral presentation next.
