Benjamin Franklin once said that “he that can have patience can have what he will,” implying that urgency and impatience is the only thing holding humanity back from achieving their goals and dreams. For those who were not born with it, patience is a skill that must be learned. Individuals must be able to wait and calmly trust the process to achieve their dreams. Patience can ease anxiety and ultimately lead individuals toward their goals and aspirations. On the other hand, individuals who expect specific results and desire their aspirations immediately have no tranquility as they become anxious and lose patience when they do not achieve their objectives, eventually leading to their downfall.
If I want to do, be, or have more I have to become more No truer words were written than this, “If you want to have more, you have to become more. Success is not something your pursue. What you pursue will elude you; it will elude you; it can be like trying to chase butterflies.
In conclusion, you should always keep going until you succeed, always follow your dreams and use your negative aspects in life to motivate you, and keep your family legacies alive. “ You shoot for the stars, and if you land somewhere in between, you 're still in good shape,” stated by Dekalb Jr. which illustrates how you don 't have to accomplish your goal exactly, as long as you 're doing something that is beneficial to you, your goal has already been accomplished. Implications “... consider the implications. We think we know what we want, but we can never really know until we've got it. And sometimes when we have, we discover we never really wanted it in the first place - but then it's too late” ― Alexandra Potter, Be Careful What You Wish For
Upward Bound with Tarrant County College along with AVID at South Hills High School have guide me through my high school trajectory. During the last 3 years AVID has helped me speak up and diminished my self-esteem issues such as speaking to other mates and creating what we called an AVID family. Upward Bound has been a catalyzer for me to learned how to managed my finances such as loans, budgets, and banking services. Since I was the lead of my family both organizations helped me become a more experienced person at a younger age. More than a college readiness program AVID and Upward Bound are the dispensers of life lessons and the nest of future leaders.
Delayed gratification is one of the most effective personal traits of successful people. People that delay gratification are more successful with their career, relationships, health, finances and really, all areas of life. • Delayed gratification is the ability to resist the temptation for an immediate reward and wait for a later reward. Generally, delayed gratification is associated with resisting a smaller but more immediate reward in order to receive a larger or more enduring reward later.(wikipedia) • Simply, it means making a choice which limits the ability of getting something now, for the pleasure of being able to have something bigger or better later.
I’m a first generation american on my father's side and second generation on my mothers. In large part, who I am today, is a direct reflection of them immigrating to this country. I learned hard work, determination, and commitment through stories they shared with me about the lives they built when they arrived to America. I’m proud of my roots and the legacy that my parents and grandparents have instilled in me and much of who I am today is a reflection of their own hard work.
Being able to write about other people being impatient has helped me learn to be more patient. Along with the characters, I found a couple outside sources that have developed being impatient. On the FYI network, there is a show called “Arranged” and two people are set-up because they have doubt in finding true love. Although there are mutliplie instances where couples are perfectly matched, there are more cases that people don’t work out. Next, there is another show that is called, “Millionaire Matchmaker” which is described as millionaires being set-up.
It’s already September! Getting up was tiresome. I played my guitar and then did my morning routine. I wore black shorts with pink stripe and a Blackhawks shirt. I ate Cherry Chocolate Yopliat Whip for breakfast and milk.
My background growing up was very culturally diverse. My mother was born in Cuenca, Ecuador and my father was born in Saigon, Vietnam. My parents are both immigrants and that makes me a first generation Ecuadorian-Vietnamese American. I have four older sisters, Jessie, Janice, Jennie, and Jammie. They were also born in America.
The more you do is the more you accomplish and become successful. Because if we really look at it nobody reach their goal by not doing anything, And to become successful you have to work to your fullest potential because no one not just gone hand you anything. like a professional athlete they had to go threw a lot to get where they at today that didn't just come by not doing nothing you had to work hard and harder everyday. You just cant sit around and accomplish a goal there's no way that can just happen. Like me i don't want nobody to hand me nothing i want to go out and get it myself.
I am stressed. Not just at one point, just simply all of the time. It is a part of my nature. When people yell, raise their voices or fight with one another it may as well be a full blown fist fight to my anxious heart. It is hard for me to be in close quarters with my family because they are rambunctious and stubborn people.
Six month ago was today like many other days. I could woke up earlier in the morning and skype or called my mum over the phone in Africa for least 20minute every day because she was all I got and my motivation. We could talked over the phone about my future and how she could attend my graduation in the year 2016. I was so excited after 6years I could finally see my mum again and not on any occasion but on my graduation day. She could be granted a visa from Sierra Leone to come see me graduate.

Growing up in a hispanic household was filled with many old traditional sex structured roles. I am the youngest of three older brothers. My mother was very involved with our childhood while my father was absent more due to his job. When i was younger, i did not notice how i was unfairly taken advantage of because of my sex by my own family. My mother always cleaned, cooked, folded everyone 's clothes and took care of the boys.
