Since the 8th grade I have been in a mathematics class every year. I have taken every algebra class that my school offers along with class such as geometry and high school precalculus. Last semester I took college algebra online at ACC. Most of the classes (including the high-school “precalculus”) have been either algebra or recapping what I should have already known from previous years. The college algebra at ACC I took last semester introduced me to many new ways of solving problems that I was previously not introduced too along with going more in depth into sections that my high-school classes simply brushed over. My previous precalculus class I took my junior year of high school was more of an algebra recap class than a precalculus class. By the time I got finished the first test of this semester I already learned more new concepts than an entire year of my high-school …show more content…
Obviously, computers and mathematics have a very close relationship. Precalculus along with algebra play a huge role in various stretches when it comes to both software and hardware side of computers. Software design requires the programmer to have a firm grasp on algebra and precalculus in order for the program to work as designed. For example, a software engineer may use equations learned in your class when he/she is tasked with designing programs centered around economics. This can be applied to a variety of programs for fields ranging from chemistry, biology, etc. . . Precalculus is also used when designing algorithms, and artificial intelligence. Precalculus also can be used when calculating equilibrium for hardware cost. Typically, when designing a computer an engineer must balance between performance, longevity and cost. Precalculus can be used to calculate the equilibrium between the three
