On Sunday I went to Great Life to work with my basketball insuctor, Jen. I went there AROUND 2:30. We worked ON: my jump shot, my right hand, which I never use; post moves, and some ball handlaing. As we were shooting we noitced that these little kids were having tourble shooting on a full 10ft basket; therefore I helped them lower the basket so they could shoot. They similed and thanked me as they contiuned to shoot.
The time I almost got cut from the basketball team.the first day of tryouts I didn’t come because I didn’t have my physical at the time.but when I got it I was there and lots of people were and only fifteen could qualify. On the first day all we had to do was shoot and show our form. But we did do something a little fun you had to get a partner and perform some moves on him. My, oh my, there are so many great individuals out there who I would just love to be able to have a ten-minute conversation with. I’m a huge San Antonio Spurs fan, so if I had to pick someone; it would have to be Tim Duncan. Basketball 4th period 3 seconds on the clock, the games tied 24:24. I come dribbling down halfcourt trying to shoot and I get fouled by the other oponent. The buzzer is on and l only have two shots for the foul. I struggle as I try to shoot missing the first shot, the second shot comes as I breathe heavily and I release the ball and hits the backboard.
Imagine, as a child, a girl’s dream is to graduate high school, complete her degree, marry the perfect partner, have amazing children and live the American dream; but then reality came into view and at eighteen years old she is pregnant with no college education and no job security. Or maybe growing up a boy’s dream is to become a professional baseball player; being MVP in little league and continued to be the all-star player through adolescence and college. His confidence is soaring and he knows it is his destiny to become a professional baseball player. Unfortunately, he was not chosen in his first year to be drafted. These are the times when the world seems to be against a dream, and then the dream seems to be out of reach.

A time where I succeeded in the face of setbacks is during my senior year of basketball. It started at the end of the season my junior year when we lost five very good players because they graduate. One of those five players that graduated played the same position as me, and always played so I rarely ever played. Once they graduated people told me I was never going to be able to be as good as the kid who graduated before me and replace him. It really made me mad and I told myself that is not true.
When I was a child, I did not necessarily have a favorite toy as if to say, but there one thing in particular that I always used to liked playing with. That one thing was Basketball, A child’s favorite toy is usually something a child would bring around with them all the time and would cherish. That's exactly what I would do with my basketball. That leathery-bumpy skin of the ball in hands while I would dribble diligently down the street, was one of the greatest feelings I had as a child. The squeaking of shoes on the court and the swish of the ball in the hoop was probably the second best thing about basketball.
