It’s seven A.M. and I’m dead tired from staying out by the fire too late the night before. I know all I need to do is convince my stubborn self to jump in the clear icy cold lake water, and I’ll awake in a flash. One of my favorite parts of the day is about to begin, water skiing and wakeboarding. I take off my cozy sweatshirt that reeks of bonfire smoke, and make my way outside to feel that early morning crisp and refreshing air. My first step I feel the cold, wet doc, and I know that another adventurous day is about to begin. I climb on the boat and make my way to the back to strap on my life-jacket. Finally, I get the nerve to jump in as my sister Macy ends her ten second countdown. The loud splash in the lake is accompanied by my …show more content…

Matt, Makenzie, and I consistently desire to go tubing. My dad’s brother has a cabin about ten houses down from ours and we usually request him as our driver when we are in a reckless mood. My dad is much more cautious than my uncle, so it is rare for someone to fall off, however with my uncle there is a high possibility our outing will be ended early with an injury. We go tubing with our flat, wide, four person tube. Since we are tall kids, it's very hard for us to all stay on when my uncle, Steve, is whipping us crazy fast over huge waves. Another thing that we love to do is go jet skiing. My sister will take one and I will take the other. When we are out on the sleds, Makenzie tosses me a football and I try to time the jump to catch it. Also occasionally, we will all go on one jet ski, and Makenzie being the carefree driver she is, will twist and turn until we all fall off and almost flip the whole jet ski over! After our long afternoon on the boat we finally get time to relax at the house. My favorite part about Okoboji is the time I get to spend with my family. Like I mentioned before, my uncle and his wife live down the street and they also have three kids around our age. My dad’s sister’s family stays at our house when they have free weekends, and my grandparents also visit often. For supper, we usually eat in because my aunt is a wonderful cook, and that way we get to spend more time playing games …show more content…

We usually play a game of mini golf at Pirate's Cove which is attached to Arnold’s Park, and then stop at the Nutty Bar for an ice cream cone. I am not a big fan of mini golf because I am not a very skilled putter, and I am also very competitive, so I’m constantly frustrated. However, it’s worth going mini golfing for the root beer float from the Nutty Bar after the round. The Nutty Bar is an ice cream joint that has been around for at least fifty years, and their root beer floats are the best I’ve ever tasted. The root beer is sweet and crisp, and once the creamy vanilla ice cream melts slightly, the float is to die for. When we return home I love sitting around the campfire with our whole family. We all roast marshmallows while we share old stories we’ve heard a million times, but somehow we still laugh until we cry every
