Hi Matt, this is Logan Sanders. After completing the preliminary Residential Assistant training I was not placed in a position. However, I was told by Shannon Jolley that "you are the very first person on our alternates’ list and will likely be awarded a position, even in the next few weeks". I received this email in early March, and understand that it I was not guaranteed a position. Regardless, I wanted to make contact to say that I am still interested in taking a position if one becomes available.
08/14 My son kevin has been having bad dreams lately, there is supposedly a man in his room at night. He tells me they arent dreams, but this supposed mystery man is clearly just a figment of his imagination, when I was a child my mind came up with the craziest things. I remember I used to think my teddy bear would actually walk to my sisters room when I was asleep, turns out that my sister was just jealous and she snuck in and kidnapped him every night. 08/16 Kevin told me that he heard whispering through his closet last night that woke him up, I asked him why he didnt come get me to inspect his room for monsters, and he told me that he was too scared to get out of bed. I blame myself for letting him watch scary movies before bedtime.
As a freshmen in college, I am supposed to know what career I want to pursue in the future. However, I am having troubles choosing one specific career due to the growing amount of careers we have today. At this moment, I am certain that I want a career that All that I know for sure is that I want to pursue a career that positively impacts another individuals life. For instance, being that person that boosted another individuals’ confidence or teaching/informing an individual something they never learned before. At this moment, I have two careers in mind: a Dental Hygienist or an Elementary School Teacher.
Becoming a Speech Pathologist seems to have all of the characteristics of a job that interest me. Constant human interaction, flexibility in job location, a decent salary, and the potential to work with children are what excite me about this career. When I imagine my future, I can picture a few aspects that I am most excited about. First, I want a family and I want to be a mom. Besides that, I want to have the option to work if I need to.
Well...I was 6 when Child Protective Services came to get us. I lived with my mom and my three sisters, the youngest was Donna she was 5 & Lizzy was 7 and Mary was 10. I remember most of my family lived in the same neighborhood like my two Aunts and my uncle and grandpa and grandma. There was an occasional gunshot, sometimes there was a fire truck rushing down our street . We lived on top of a hill at 1015 Norwich in Grand Rapids.
AUCOIN.SESSION1.JOURNAL PAGE 1 Have you ever felt as if you were unwanted? I woke up and went to bed with that feeling every day until I was about nineteen. I was taken away from my parents when I was only twenty two months old. I was molested, neglected, and abused. No child should ever have to go through what I went through.
I was born and raised in California in a nice yet not so perfect neighborhood; every now and then it would get some action, such as high speed chase or a drug bust. I had the privilege of growing up the oldest of seven, with three brothers and three sisters in our five bedroom home. Certain things were not too bad even though I hated the idea of babysitting and sharing a room till the age of sixteen, and that was primarily because I would go to school then work right after and spent most nights in the living room finishing homework or studying and end up falling asleep there. My mother was not a single mother, but her and my father have been together and never been married, I asked them once and the reason was that they could earn and receive
After carefully considering my skills, interest, and values; I have decided my first choice of career plan would be to become a Kindergarten teacher. I am suitable for this job because I would like to work with children. I can help children that need help and want every child to be safe. Being a teacher comes with a lot of responsibilities and skills that I need to learn. The responsibilities that I will have are to create lesson plans, observe students, grade students' assignments, and prepare students for state assessments.
Work with children Throughout my high school and college years, I have had several experiences with children that have all played a part in shaping my love for working with children. During high school, I spent two summers nannying for two young school aged children. Working with these siblings really made me realize how much fun I have working with children and watching them grow. Once I came to college, I started another babysitting job working with two four year old twin girls.
My ultimate career goal is being in the classroom, teaching elementary students (preferably either Kindergarten or first grade). However, I have been so interested in working with with special needs students. These past two semesters required me to complete observation hours, which I completed a majority within a special education classroom. I saw the way these students learned, and tried to gain an understanding of the material. What really touched my heart is the fact that though these students have disabilities, they still had a passion for life and an excitement to learn.
My career is a preschool teacher because I want to become a preschool teacher. The preschool teaches children that have not wanted them the first year of kindergarten. The duties are to help the kids are 3 to 5 years old to be ready for kindergarten, by working with kids in group by themselves, but depends on what subjects do they need the help in and helping plan out for the children day for breakfast, snacks, lunch, activity, rest, and playtime. In a childcare center, preschool teachers are required to have a last a high school diploma and a certification in early childcare education, but to start out ahead of a preschool teacher is getting into programs are required to have a least associate’s degree. Some of the skills are creativity,
Teaching: My Career of Choice When I was young, I had several different interests that led to endless career possibilities. Among the ever-changing lists were nursing, dolphin training, interior design, the culinary arts, and so on and so forth. However, there was always this passion I had for young children, and my motherly attitude, skills with children, and love for learning led me to the path of education. I have often been told that have a gift with children and am able to get down on their level.
I have always loved working with children. Most of the time, children are an abundance of joy and they're infectious in the best way possible. Their happiness always becomes my happiness and even though there may have been times where young children are troublesome, I was so proud see them learn right from wrong. My pain for caring for children began in 2012, when my two younger brothers began attending a daycare right down the street from where we lived. But it was not until the summer of 2013 that I began spending time around the daycare because I didn't want to stay at home by myself for the entirety of the summer.
Career Autobiography There are many things that I feel have led me to year number two of graduate school pursuing a career as a school counselor. For I while I tried to convince myself that a career in school counseling was not for me and ultimately everything led me here. My mother has been a school counselor for the last 25 years and I grew up watching her do something she loved. I went to school everyday and watched my mother make a positive impact on many of my classmates and this left a very lasting impression on me.
I experienced working with children at a very young age. I assisted my mother teaching swim lessons to infants, toddlers and young children. The experience working with young children was very rewarding. I quickly realized teaching is not a one size fits all. During middle school and high school, I baby sat for families around the neighborhood.
