The memorable day in my life is when I started Detroit Job Corps. I was nervous and happy at the same time. When I woke up that day my stomach had butterflies in it, and I was sweating like it was summer time. My face felt hot, like I was going to pass out. My mother cooked a huge breakfast for me.
As I looked at her, I asked her “Even when all the members here are as close as family, do you guys ever get into conflicts?” This question weighed on my mind sometimes now, as I believed that even the closest friends or families would get into
The transition from childhood to adulthood occurs when an individual is able to recognize the impact he or she can leave upon their community, gaining life skills doing so. An accomplishment that marked my transition from childhood to adulthood, would be best demonstrated by the process and completion of a leadership responsibility when I performed my Eagle Scout Project. I joined the scouting program when I was very young, and have been very active since ever. Becoming an Eagle Scout has many challenges that a young Boy Scout must undertake, including the completion of a community-based project, which is an important step in obtaining this notable rank. The Eagle Scout Project is designed for the scout to learn different leadership responsibilities.
Pop! Pop! Zoom! Whiz! I heard them and I heard them loud.
My time in the Coast Guard Academy Scholars Program has helped prepare me to be successful at the Academy by emphasizing the importance of teamwork, communication, and time-management which are vital skills required to be an effective future Coast Guard Academy cadet and future officer. By stressing the importance of teamwork and communication during orientation and studying at the Prep Schools, my classmates and I have forged a strong bond that will last through the Academy and our future as officers in the Coast Guard. By learning the importance of teamwork and communication, my fellow classmates and I are more comfortable in confiding in others to help improve our performance. By establishing close relationships between our teachers and classmates, we were able to receive help and correct problems when they arose instead of letting them pan out to be major issues that affect our overall performance.
I was a coward who spent most of my time in a dark cave reminiscing on my failure as a friend. As dark as the cave was, so was my mind. There were so many things I was afraid to shine a light on, but one needed to be remembered. There was this man I liked so much that I couldn't help waving his thoughts out of my mind. Kevin Bigger, dark, tall, and agile with a rectangular face structure; he was ready to serve.
I also found it interesting how, the younger sisters, older sister continued to play with my mom even after this event happened. It showed me that even younger kids had a different opinion than their own parents, and didn’t follow their word if they didn’t agree to it. And, because of that created a lifetime relationship with my
Fall Hike in October I’m running out of my house, slamming the door behind me and shouting, “I’m free!” at the top of my air-filled pink lungs. I get a few weird looks from the neighbors that are outside and a few from even the one’s inside but they’re used to my usual crazy outbursts. I don’t know if I should be worried by that or not.
Yes, I'm going to Lucky Eagle on the 10th; that's my standard casino bus trip. However, the more I go to Red Wind; the more I like it. Their new non-smoking section is bigger and much nicer. Maybe some day, you can join me on that trip.
The war is over. I have missed my child and wife. I can’t wait to see them again, my beautiful child is about five now. I left before I had a chance to see it come into the world. I don’t even know its name or the gender, I can’t find out; the letters and telegrams were not allowed just incase they of the chance they get intercepted by the enemy.
September 8th is the day that I will forever remember. Under the shining lights on the Ramapo turf, the Raiders were having their way with us like we didn’t even belong on the field with them. At halftime, it was 21-7 and I told myself that we were not starting the season off 0-1. On the field during a halftime that felt like an hour, the energy on our sideline was dead. Everyone moping around thinking that they were going to put up another 21 points just to run the clock so we could get out of there, but not me.
World War 1 changed everything for me. After the war ended, I was walking around to see what damage has been done to our country. While I was walking around all I heard was kids and adults crying and screaming people someone in their family like their mom, dad, brother, or sister was killed in the war. A few hours have gone by and people started to clean up the mess that was made during the war. So then I realized that my dad was coming back from the war
One of the most memorable experiences for me in high school was homecoming week. By the time homecoming came around my senior year I was very involved and very social in my school. This ultimately lead to me being voted homecoming king. As homecoming king I got the opportunity to go to all of our elementary and middle schools and talk to the younger kids. I absolutely loved getting to give younger kids advice, encouraging them to get involved in school and spirit week.
The best moment in my life was when I went to Chicago for a band trip. We did many things, including seeing the Chicago symphony, which had three long songs, watching the Blue Man Group, which was very colorful and messy, and walking around the city for about one hour before going to Giordano’s Pizza, even though it wasn’t on the itinerary. We also went to the Museum of Science and Industry. The museum had both exhibits and shops that were fun and educational. My band also got to play in another museum that has terrible sound quality.
When I rushed Kappa Phi Lambda, I thought it was going to be an opportunity to be in one happy sisterhood; however, it was quite different when I crossed. I noticed that some classes were divided where there were some tensions and some older sisters would talk down to the younger ones. It did not seem like a happy sisterhood at all at times. My goal when I had Sister Events Chair was to overcome those tensions between classes; however, it did not last.
