Jacobs P.O.W. Story On a dreary night during the war in North Korea, I was missing my pinky, but It was bandaged. My bullets were running low my vision was becoming blurry and my legs began to ache. I laid down resting my head against a tree and dozed off. My dream was quite peculiar that night I dreamed of my family, but there was a twist none of them could speak nor could they move as if time itself was frozen. The next morning I awoke in a dim room, the walls were concrete with a small window but the floor was dirt. Once my eyes adjusted I could see a metal door with a small slit in it. I started checking what I had on me and in my satchel I had a small canteen, a flask half full of whisky, some matches, a few cigars, and some canned sardines. I had no weapons on me unless you count my can opener in my pocket. Suddenly I heard foot steps coming from what I assumed was a hall. Then the slit in the door opened and a man speaking poor English said get up and get against the wall. I done as he asked, then he opened the door and slid a tray of bread and beans to my feet and said "Eat you work hard tomorrow." then he shut the door and left laughing. …show more content…

the food turned out to be fine cold but it wasn't messed with so I started eating. When I was almost done I heard some shuffling and a muffled yelling coming down the hall. when the sound got to my door the footsteps stopped and the door opened. Then they threw the man in the room with me. After a while of watching the man scurry around the small room he told me that his name was Walter, of course then I said "Nice to meet you Walter, my name is Bob".
