It was a late afternoon when Marlon and I were getting ready for our first tennis match of the 2014-2015 season against Wilsonville. This was my first year playing tennis and I didn’t know much, but I felt confident about this match knowing that I have played alot with my friends. The tennis courts were gorgeous at this time of day. The sun was shining, the courts were bright with red and green, and the breeze of the slight wind made me feel calm.
“You ready for this match”? Marlon asked.
“Heck yeah man!” I replied We head on into the tennis courts and shook hands with our opponents. As I stepped onto the court, I felt a gush of nervousness. I didn’t know why, but it just hit me unexpectedly.
“Good luck guys!” Our opponents yelled from across the court.

“Yeah, great playing!” Marlon replied Around 9 P.M, I rushed home and lied in bed. I tried to figure out what I did so bad this match that made us lose.I kept thinking. I finally realized that I haven’t been training hard enough. I wasn’t focused during our practices we had during the beginning of the season. I wanted to practice harder and be more focused. I wanted to be able to beat the players my partner and I lost so hard to. In order to become successful and be able to achieve my goals, I have to train hard, and not stop until I get there. The next morning, I set a schedule for days I was going to practice, and days I was going to rest. I didn’t want to experience that failure again. In about 3 weeks, we were going to face Wilsonville again, and this time, by the time we get our match, I knew we were going to be ready. This experience was very significant in my life because if I had not went through all of this, I wouldn't be where I am today. This experience applied to everything; including schoolwork, and other sports that I were involved in. I’m glad that I lost the first match to
