SGT. Barrett and I contacted a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot that was parked in an unlit area at approximately 2300 hours. Once outside of our vehicle I started flanking toward the right side of the white Nissan Maxima, as the windows were darked out. SGT. Barrett went to the driver side of the vehicle, where the door was ajar, with a male sitting in the driver's seat with his feet planted on the ground I heard what sounded like a dense metal object fall onto the pavement from the driver's side of the vehicle.
Spike Jones and his team try to figure out how to build a future feel like the present, so the movie would bring the audiences into the familiar world. "It's not science-future, it's science-present." After watching the whole movie, audiences have not seen any fancy technology or big huge machines or even some modern cars. "Part of the reason we avoided cars is because we wanted to avoid street scenes in general." said by K.K. Barrett.
wave then settled back down. A few minutes later, the Captain came back, took his seat, and resumed eating, again without saying anything. We later learned that we had missed colliding with a merchant vessel by a matter of feet. After calmly leaving the lunch table, Captain Siegrist had climbed the stairs to the bridge, assessed the situation quickly, and issued the exact and correct orders for course and speed necessary to avoid the collision. And then he returned to his lunch as though it was just another day at the office.
Hollywood over the years has created many technological inventions for their projects. For instance, Star Trek introduced the idea of the cell phone before it became a reality later in the 21st century. Phil of the Future, a Disney Channel sitcom, followed this Hollywood trend as well. Phil of the Future was about a teenaged boy named Phil, along with his family, who comes from the future to live a normal life in the mid 2000’s. They brought their futuristic lingo, holidays, and of course the gadgets/inventions.
Food of the Gods, Starship Troopers, and A Legend of the Future all share common characteristics where the audience can attempt to redefine science fiction. In relation with the three books, there is a strive of perfection affected by human emotions, an idea of dissociation, and a relationship between technology and humankind. To begin with, Food of the Gods is able to express the idea of perfection through boomfood. Herakleophorbia was the next big thing, “a vista of enormous possibilities” as scientist Bensington remarked.
Rebels Without a Cause Not very many people have affected me in the same way as my friend Jake Fernholz. I have never realized the influence he has had on me until someone pointed out that we talk and think the same way. I only met Jake two years ago in track, when a pulled hamstring injury caused Mr. Kellerman to have me practice with the long distance kids. Mr. Kellerman forced me into staying on the long distance team and that is where I started to hit it off with Jake. It took me a long time to be comfortable with Jake, but when I did we quickly found our common interests.
Star Wars is set in a futuristic universe with advanced technology, spaceships, laser guns, advanced robots, and a multitude of alien species.
There are so many movies I watched during my childhood, but my favorite movie has to be Field of Dreams. The movie presents one of the most interesting baseball stories ever. Field of Dreams was produced in April of 1989. I can’t imagine anyone who loves the game of baseball not liking this movie. I love this movie as it connects with two things I love the most, God and baseball.
The future has always been seen as far away. The idea of flying cars, hoverboards, or spaceships seem far away, but looking back at past science fiction novels and movies. We see that these inventions might not be so far off. Damsel in Distress by Evan Faust and 2001: A Space Odyssey are perfect examples of what used to be future technology that were used today.
Greek mythology originates from Ancient Greece (2000 B.C) created as a way for their scientifically undeveloped civilization to explain their surroundings and fathom mysteries such as the creation of the world, while incorporating their morals and beliefs to teach lessons on human behaviour. These myths involve titans, nymphs, monsters and gods contrasting different vices and virtues, becoming the pillars of our religious speculations and of our moral standards in our western culture. The primitive versions of these stories, traveled by word of mouth during the time era; nevertheless, as society evolves, these tales were transcribed by Epic Poets such as Homer, creator of the first recorded version of the myths titled “Iliad and Odyssey”.
It is the year 1918 and I am still living with my dad, mom, sister, brother, and my Labrador Retriever. The Great War or The War to End All Wars just ended a few days ago. My family and I live in St. Louis, Missouri. The war has affected everyone in the world more than likely. I know it has affected everyone here in the United States.
The Millennium Falcon is the ship that truly projected my love for Star Wars and Legos. While watching the movies, I would see
Sleep. It’s such an incredibly fleeting thing to Han Solo. However many hours of rest does he get to have on a daily basis simply stands as an unknown number.
I walked home on May 4, 2016 from school, I didn’t really feel the same as I regularly felt. The last conversation I remember having was with my friends when they asked me did I want to go with them to a Star Wars convention and kept telling me, “the fourth will be with you, the fourth will be with you.” I didn’t understand it myself but because they were my friends, I told them that we could all meet back up after I go home and take a nap. In all honesty, I never watched Star Wars a day in my life, so of course not wanting to be embarrassed, I went straight to YouTube to watch a quick video explaining the history of the series. It was honestly the worse thing I’ve ever seen and it was definitely a waste of my time but before I exited the
At this time of year, I begin to look back at my life after 12 hard years of schooling. Throughout the course of my life, there have been many ups and downs, but these up and downs is what made me who I am today. These influences have shaped my values, attitudes and beliefs towards life. There have been many important people and events that has impacted my life. One of which is family and the media.
