Today was another busy but fulfilling day. I got checked off with my head-to-toe assessment. I followed my regular nurse, Nurse Clea. Since I mostly knew the routines of my patients, I started by doing rounds. I checked my patients one by one to see if they were stable and responsive.
You are not working towards a goal that you can necessarily “fail” at, and therefore that stress is gone. This state of mind is considered “flow”, where attention is focused on that activity and “there is reduced consciousness of self and time” (Gray). Studies have shown that this state is particularly useful in creative tasks, conscious decision making and the learning of new skills. However, if play does not develop to continue to demand mental focus and the activity becomes habitual for the player, the player is less likely to grow in the aforementioned categories.

As Carla Berkowitz walked up to classmates Jessica Quaggin-Smith and Max Kazer on Monday afternoon at Lake Shore Park, not far from Northwestern Memorial Hospital, she noticed a shirtless man in gym shorts and black sneakers leaning back on a nearby bench with his head tilted back. "He looked really uncomfortable. His mouth was open and he was just in a really awkward position. Something didn 't look right, didn 't feel right to me," said Berkowitz, 23, who lives in the Gold Coast.

Everybody knows that there are four seasons, and everyone has their favorite one out of all of them. Mine is when the woods turns into a coloring book of orange and red, when I put a nice warm batch of hot co-co on the stove, and were all of my family comes together every year. My favorite season is fall. My favorite hobby is hunting.
In my life, I have not faced many obstacles. I have not been disowned from my family, like Luma, or experienced war and famine, like the Fugees. I have one obstacle, that could be a considered an obstacle, and it is a mental one. When I was a child and now, I have always had the idea in my head that anything less than an A is bad. Anything less than an A would make me sad, make me burst into tears, be really anxious, or stressed.
Boom! As soon as I let that ball go, I knew instantly it was a kill. The libero, the best passer on the team, just watched that ball drop right in front of her. The whole team was shocked that an 12 year old could hit that hard. It was the big Southeast Qualifier tournament, the biggest and the last tournament of the season, so I had to end it on a good note.
One day, I was out with my family at a French bakery. As I opened the door, the sweet scent of baked goods entered my nostrils, an old man approached and he said thank you in a very thick French accent. I asked the old man if he was French and he replied with “oui je suis français”( yes i 'm French). I responded with “ Je ne suis pas français mais je peux parle français”( I 'm not French but I can speak French) .

Unsatisfactory From a young age to today, I have heard countless strangers ask me, “Tell me about yourself,” curious about my name, age, and ethnicity. I, along with millions of students, have written a massive number of reports and essays throughout the school years but I have never pondered about how I view myself as an English student. Given the prompt, I believe the kind of English student that I am today is reflected upon my interests, background, and experience.
I didn’t always love to read. A lot of my classmates know me as the one who actually enjoys reading outside of school; however, it wasn’t always like this. Before I read one certain book, my “gateway book”, I didn’t appreciate reading. The book series that I read right before seventh grade changed my view on reading completely.
Many people said that it was a terrible day. I arrived at school, before the reporting time. We picked up our shiny, silver and gold instruments and started to play for fun. I could hear people chatting, and section leaders yelling at students to not play, mostly brass instruments. Lucky, I’m not a brass player.
Risks can be something huge to overtake that leave you paralyzed with fear. But often smaller risks are overlooked even though they have the potential to change your life. The best risk I have ever taken in my life is a seemingly small one in the grand scheme of things, but I know at the time it seemed a monumental task, but if I had never gotten the courage to take that risk my life would probably be drastically different today. That sounds somewhat dramatic, but I suppose it all goes back to drama, specifically theatre, that is. The first show I ever saw was Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella when I was a high school freshman.
