Discuss the essence and function of HCPCS. HCPCS stands for Heathcare Common Procedure Coding System. There are three levels of HCPCS codes.
My biggest expectation going into the internship at DFCS was that I would learn more about the social work/social services field and confirm that social work was truly what I wanted to spend my life doing as a career. I also expected to confirm my thought that DFCS was a place I would enjoy working and could see myself working in the future after graduate school. This internship met my personal expectations, however it happened in a way much differently than I expected. While the internship experience did confirm that I love social work and the social services field, it showed me that DFCS is not the agency that I want to work with as a career. I stand behind DFCS 100%; however, I don’t think I could work with DFCS long term.

.On any given day there will be a group of students working on their associates degrees that have been there long before I started to attend Wayne County Community College. They are a little older than I am, most being around the age of 23. They spend their time playing video games while I stand mind going to class. I consider this group to be friends but I am scared this is what my future will be like if I remain at this institution.
Community service is not just something I do to be a part of National Honor Society. Community service is more to me. To volunteer and do good for my community and others are the major reasons for me completing my service hours. Just seeing other people’s lives brighten up because of my help is my reward.
Throughout this assignment, I was able to learn about both the ELPS and TLPAS in greater detail than I have in the past. I learned that these programs have a significant impact on schools, and that teachers play a large role in implementing these programs. Overall, I learned what exactly these programs are, the role of the teacher in these programs, and how they impact the students in the classroom. The acronym ELPS stands for English language proficiency standards and they are the “federally required instructional standards designed to ensure that ELL’s are taught the academic English they need for school purposes.” The teaching of the ELPS falls on the shoulders of the student’s teacher, who must ensure that they are integrating the ELPS
During my Semester with Adult Protective Services I was able to gain an insightful meaning to competencies that are required of me throughout this learning experience. I was capable in relating competencies with Field Practitioners as well as policies and procedures on a micro level. During my time with Adult Protective Services Specialists, I had the privilege to observe Ethical and Professional Behaviors by witnessing Investigations on abuse, neglect and exploitation. I was able to observe the professionalism of the Specialist assigned to the cases and how they made decisions with clients based off ethics and policies in place by APS. Engaging in Diversity and Differences in Practice was observed when I was able to sit in on a case initiation of
Finding the perfect fit is seldom an easy task. Whether it is something as menial as buying a pair of shoes or as important as choosing a life partner finding the right match can be daunting. So when the time came for me to start looking for a college, I knew I had a difficult task in front of me. When I discovered Suny Empire State College a was very interested and the more I learned the more excited I became. I had finally found a college that was exactly what I was looking for.
My eyes automatically drifted to the tall bright palm tree that moved along with the rhythm of the wind. It’s leafs danced as they presented their welcome. The sun shined down and hugged me with warmth, giving my skin a tingling, but satisfying sensation. I had come from Virginia to California, the famous, constantly spoken of state, that finally reached my sight. The state presented its beautiful attributes to capture my wonder and mesmerization.
Everyone belongs to a culture, or multiple cultures. According to Merriam-Webster, culture is the customary beliefs, social forms, and material traits of a racial, religious, or social group; also the characteristic features of everyday existence. Whether that culture is made up by people who all share a common love for Jazz music, or because they all share living with deafness and using sign language. Being immersed in a culture is what makes us unique, but also what makes us feel connected to others. RHS 100 dives into the culture of disability, where a group of people who share common interests and goals, along with advocating for what they believe in, come together.
“Final Reflection” As said by C. J. Cherryh, an American writer, “It is perfectly okay to write garbage—as long as you edit brilliantly.” ("Inspirational Writing Quotes from Famous Authors."). Freshman composition has changed the way I write. I have learned more than just writing technics though. Throughout the semester in the class we have discussed metacognition and how to properly use it, I have a better understanding of how to conduct database research and I have overall improved my writing skills to create college level essays.
When I decided to train to become a professional school counselor, I knew I had a long road ahead. I am trained to be a teacher, a special education teacher to be specific, and though I will be able to use much of my past experience as a classroom teacher in my school counseling practice, I am aware that I will also need to see my students in a new way, a more holistic way. I will need to focus not only on what works in the classroom, but what works in order to motivate and support the students with whom I meet. It is essential for me to determine what will drive me, inspire me to be the best school counselor for both my school and students, therefore, I must determine my professional philosophy of education and school counseling and develop my beliefs, vision and mission statements.
During the course of this semester, I feel that I have grown substantially as a writer. I think that I could improve even more with practice as well as using a few resources. This class has helped me drastically by improving my writing structure but I think it could have been even better if I had spent my time more efficiently. Overall this class has been very beneficial to me and I think it will really help me in the future. When I started this class I took a completely different approach to writing a paper.
This quote reflects one of the important ideas that I have learned in this class. In the past, I typically thought of happiness as only an emotion. I never thought of how essential happiness would be to live an excellent life, let alone my health. However, as I continued to attend this class, I realized how important happiness was. I am sure plenty of you all have felt this, having to wake up early in the morning to trek to school to at 7:00 AM for a seemingly useless class.
I have been involved in Campus Congress throughout all of my high school years. I have held a number of executive positions including Lead Grade Representative, Executive Secretary, Treasurere, Vice- Speaker, and Speaker, and I have worked with Administrators to implement school reforms such as upgrading software systems, increasing internet capabilities, acquiring IPads for the library, and introducing a number of charging stations throughout the school in order to encourage students to bring their own technology to school. Campus Congress has taught me about working to represent a group of people to the best of my ability and how to collaborate with peers and adults in order to achieve maximum efficiency. The proposals I have worked on are
