At the end of this academic year I envision myself being a step closer to completing my B.A. and more aware of my leadership skills in my workplace. My goal as a student is to continually learn and improve my character through knowledge and theory.

Having the same calendar in the places where I spend most of my time helps be aware of the tasks that I need to complete. Additionally, my phone, computers and work email calendars are all synced together to help me track all my dates. As events are scheduled in my life, either professionally or socially, dates are added to all locations. The balance of work and school is a constant struggle and leaves little room for rest. I constantly refocus my mind to concentrate on the tasks on hand and to become present in the environment I need to be in at that time. A skill that I have adopted is planning and scheduling; my skills at work have set me up to plan my studying schedule in hour-long blocks of time. Also visualizing my work calendar is now something I do for my study calendar. As a result of both traits I believe I have adopted an authentic leadership style approach to my studies. I maintain self-discipline by consistently making the effort to check my calendar, add dates, follow the plan I have created.
