Nursing is not just a career; it is means in which a passion can be fulfilled, a passion of serving the community. I want to be a nurse because helping people is what I have always wanted to do, it has become my passion. My goal is to wake up in the morning and happily get ready for work knowing that at some point that day, I am going to help change or inspire someone, even in just a small way. A degree in nursing from Thomas Edison will help me achieve my goal. To me, nursing means being able to be myself in an environment where I can put a smile on a patient’s face and help them through a difficult time. A nurse needs to be friendly, outgoing, and most of all, patient. While some say nursing is challenging, I am determined to become a nurse. I will strive to be a successful student in this program, a program whose mission and purpose aligns with my learning goals. Not only will I make a great nurse, but I also feel that I can truly learn with this accelerated program and graduate a highly effective nurse. I am willing to take initiative, both inside the classroom and in the learning environment of a clinical, in order to fulfill my career choice. I am a dedicated and motivated student. I constantly endeavor to learn new things, and I take my passion and career goals seriously. I am determined to become an informed nurse.
