Education is such a powerful essential to life and it has become an extreme privilege that not everyone can be granted with. I have been lucky enough to receive outstanding educational experiences and there are two specific events that have completely affected my educational performance: becoming a resource helper in an autistic classroom and being on yearbook staff. After being a part of those two events, my entire perspective on education has shifted focus and now I clearly see what a blessing my educational career has been.

I assumed it would be an easy elective class I could do. Once I got started in yearbook, I realized that my image of yearbook being an easy class could not have been more off. I started out as the girl who took awful pictures and was too anxiety-ridden to conduct an interview. All of the nervous breakdowns during interviews and blurry pictures I took seemed to fade to the back of my mind and become a stepping stone in my journey to becoming Chief Editor. My face was beaming with happiness knowing that I was able to crawl my way from a lousy staff member up to respectable Chief Editor. Yearbook taught me how to have dedication as well as how to take an unfortunate situation and turn it around to. I noticed that in class I started to use the same dedication from yearbook and my grades started to improve as well as my participation class. If I did not understand a lesson, I would ask questions or get help until I understand all of the material. I became the smart and outgoing girl who teachers appreciated and who I felt like I was meant to be all along. I will always cherish the dedication
