Information and technology is improving and growing every day and I have always been amazed about the things technology has allowed us to accomplish. My interest for Information and technology sparked back in Year 7, and ever since I have been studying IT as a subject. As my interest for IT grew I decided to study a BTEC Level 3 extended diploma in IT which has given me a much better idea of what IT covers. During my time at college I have been able to study a wide range of modules and it has help me decide that I want to study computer science at university.
The course contained many different programming modules for instance Java and Visual basics. These programming languages allowed me to see what programming can be used for. Modules which I have enjoyed and found interesting are HCI and Object oriented programming and organisational system security.

Within this module I also had to understand the fundamental principles behind HCI designs. This module helped me understand how human computer interaction works and also helped me broaden my knowledge.
Organisational system security module involved learning about different types of threats, the damage it can have on customers, employees and companies and what measures can be put in place to keep systems secure. Within this module I also taught the 8-tiers of recovery. This module improved my researching skills which enables me to effectively find solutions for problems through research.
Throughout the years within education I have developed a variety of skills such as team working, verbal communication and time management. My time management skills have improved since I started college, I am able to plan when I want to finish my work and how many hours I will spend on it.
