The reason I want to go to college is to help me prepare for my future career. College will help me to further my education so I can excel in the career of my choice; and I believe that UW Oshkosh will be able to help me accomplish this goal. UW Oshkosh will be able to provide me with a degree so I will be able to get a job that I enjoy in a career field that I like.
Education is a lifetime of learning and college education can be the most stressful situation in someone 's life. In the article titled, “What Is the Point of College?” by Kwame Anthony Appiah, (The New York Times, on September 8, 2015) Appiah exposes what college should be about. I believe that Cal Poly provides me with enough classroom opportunities to determine both what I can do and who I can be.
According to the reading "Why Go to College" in my ENF book, students have many reasons for attending college. One reason for learning is to adapt to new situations. College is far more different from high school; consequently, adapting to the college atmosphere often takes more time. Another reason is to learn about different cultures and people through this experience. A third reason is to be able to better deal with advances in knowledge and technology that are changing the world as the world is filled with technology because new things are invented every day.
Why College? Why College? College is my life long-term goal not only it gives me the opportunity for me to learn new things it also challenges; College also expose me to many different professions in my nursing career. College is important to me because I will be the first in my family to gradated with an Associate of Science to become a Register Nurse, opening many doors in the professional field, help build the numbers of male nurses around the world, and also make my family proud. After college I won’t be receiving a piece of paper with my name on it’s going more than that it help me do become successful in life.

I don 't think so because of the (Claim#1) colleges being so expensive and the average price for college is around $33,480 and $24,930. It 's absurd on how much you’ll have to pay if you do go to college because of the amount of money it takes before and after. I shall include that (claim#2) not all students are going to go to college because of acceptance ratings, the acceptance ratings of a good college like Harvard might only pick 6% of the applications and leaving the rest of them somewhere else.

As long as I can remember, I knew that college was going to be part of my future. That is because I always knew what my family expected out of me. With a higher education, I will have more job opportunities available, potentially be able to earn higher income, and obtain more useful life skills than somebody who does not have a college education. To begin, having a college education under my belt is important to me because I will have more opportunities for a job, after I complete my four years.
I have always valued education and learning. I perceive knowledge as the sole epitome of captivating. As someone who has consistently prioritize education and all things pertaining to it, I hope that my education will lead me to substantial and prominent aspects in life. At the current moment, I am a lost cause, drifting here and there, attempting to seek my destined path on Earth. Education enables me to extend my understanding and proficiency of our convoluted being on this planet.
College is not just about academics. It is about everything else too. It is about the new friends and connections. It is about trying new things and becoming comfortable in new environments. Most of all, it is about pushing yourself to achieve greatness even though there are likely to be failures and setbacks.
When I hear the word education, I instantly think of the ability to learn and gain knowledge so that I can achieve goals in life and live life to my full ability. However, after I build my experiences in my occupation and find value within myself, I am on the road to success in life. I believe the more degrees I have under my belt, the better opportunity I'll have at finding a great job. A job with good benefits and something I enjoy doing. I know that if I am pre educated in whatever occupation I choose I will find great value in doing the best I can.

What makes people decide whether they want to go to college? Throughout school, teachers, counselors and parents always talk about college and how important it is. “Higher education is needed.” This is thrown around, but for myself, I want to pursue learning outside of high school. If I am educated then I can also educate or give educational opportunities to my family or community. A higher education is not only something I know will benefit me in life, but a decent salary would help create these opportunities for higher education. I would be more than willing to help anyone in their career path because I can see its importance and impact in my daily life.
I wish this journey were as easy for me as it was for most education majors, however I was not the obvious “born to be a teacher” child. I have always enjoyed working with students and truly wanted to make an impact on others lives, but no one thought of directing me toward a career path in education. I was instead advised to pursue actuarial science, engineering or accounting. A profession in education, something I had felt such a strong connection with, was obsolete in the eyes of others. In the end the extensive amount of pressure from my parents to choose a high salary, math-based career ended up influencing my college decision process.
My Pursuit A ten year old girl sat in the stands of a Butte College graduation watching all of the beaming smiles in gowns. There was an announcement of all the young people that would be graduating that year, some as young as 17 or 18. As soon as she heard about all of these opportunities, that young girl knew she wanted to be able to reach them in her pursuit of education. As one could assume, that little girl was myself and I am still star-eyed over education. My sophomore when College Connection was being presented to the then Juniors, I developed a passion for the idea and began planning for this opportunity even then.
