At the end of my sophomore year of high school, our guidance counselor began her routine speeches on our schedule possibilities for the following year. I began to ask myself, “Where would I be next year?” With many different possibilities on my mind, I decided that enrolling in a college class and becoming a concurrent student would be the most beneficial choice to make. The following year I was introduced to the wonder of discussion posts, online quizzes, and exams that didn’t always match the material I studied. In the midst of everything happening I began to ask a different question, “Why am I spending my time doing this?”
I soon realized that in spending my time while taking these college classes, I would be a semester ahead when I entered my freshman year of college. After which I would graduate and find a job that I loved, all because I spent my time wisely while in high school. Next fall I will more than likely be attending Oklahoma State University where I will be an Agricultural Business and Agricultural Communications Double Major. After looking at the classes that I am required to take in order to receive my degree, I have realized that by taking this Composition 1 class I will be better prepared for the classes I will take further down the road in my college career.

I had one more year to walk the halls of Dibble High School, but I also remembered that I have only one more semester to try to claim either valedictorian or salutatorian. In this first semester of I hope to maintain my grade average and move from being ranked number three in my class, to at least number two. However in this class alone, I hope to become a better writer. Numerous English teachers while in school have taught me, yet I still feel as if I have not reached my full potential as a writer.
