I think it can prevent accidents because if you can't drive while using your phone you will be more alert while being on the road. Most accidents happen because drivers like to be on their phone. Instead of them paying attention to what's going on in their surroundings they rather be on their phone at stop lights, stop signs, and intersections etc. Some people could just glance at their phone for less than a minute and then BOOM! You just took someone's life that quick just because your phone was more important than anything. With that being said that shows you its not a good idea to try and multitask while driving because it can cause serious crashes and consequences as well.
