Remember when zoos used to be a lot more fun? Have you ever thought of the fact that the animals are being abused ? "Zoo complicated"written by Kathryn Hulick and "Zoos fighting to save Endangered species"by Cristine Graf the argument on whether wildlife should stay wild is explored. Based on the environment animals are not getting the health they need. As humans we have fun at zoos seeing all the excitement happen but, the animals don't.
In my opinion, Robert Laidlaw presented a more logical argument in his article “Zoos: Myth and Reality”. To start off with, I think animals are not getting the proper care they need to help them survive. According to Laidlaw, he states, “But most zoos fail to live up to their own propaganda and vast numbers of zoo animals continue to endure the lives of misery and deprivation.” Second of all, I think animals are suffering from captivity. In the text it says, “But there is one issue in which there seems to be widespread agreement-- at least in principle.
There is a plethora of reasons people visit zoos, they allow curious customers the chance to submerge themselves in a foreign environment filled with species they wouldn 't see in an average day. But, animal captivity costs outweigh the benefits, and the violation of the rights of the individual animals is unjustifiable and purely unethical. Being born into zoos and dying in zoos effects wild animals physically and emotionally. They were not made to be watched every hour of everyday and kept in small confined artificial habitats, and these small factors alone end up being lethal for many unfortunate animals. By having knowledge of the gruesome events zoo animals endure, and taking initiative to speak out and spread the word about the topic of how zoos negatively affect the mentality and physical well being of animals, potentially it can open the minds and eyes of peers.
Well, that is wrong. If that was truly the case ZOOS WOULD NOT EXIST! Many of the animals at the zoo on display are placed on anti depressants. Oftentimes, animals who are “no longer of use” will be fed to other animals. In the Gaza zoo, white donkeys were drawn on to appear to look like zebras.
Zoos have always been something that families love and kids look forward to going to. Kids learn about the animals and the habitats and enjoy the entertainment. To start, Zoos make animals in confinement hurt each other. According to Spanishzoos.org animals hurt each other. when they are in confinement together. This is bad because if the animals hurt each other they could kill each other or severely injure each other. animals even get ill because of zoos.(Spanishzoos.org).
Zoos Should Be Banned Imagine you are five years old, someone breaks into your home, kills your aunt and possibly your older brother in the process of kidnapping you. You are separated from your loved ones, leaving your mother in severe pain and grief. You are taken somewhere unknown, imprisoned in a cell where people come watch you for their own entertainment.
This argument is split into three main viewpoints, the opinion that zoos harm animals, the opinion that zoos save endangered species, and a mix between the two. Viewpoint number three is more of a critique how zoos are good places where bad things happen and should be reformed. Each option has its own individual pros and cons but a reform of zoos and their standards would be the most economical for zoos and aquariums and this method would also be the least harmful and less stressful for the animals involved. The care and wellbeing of the animals involved should be the number one priority of all groups and by cutting back on over breeding, the phasing out of lager animals that naturally roam large distances, and creating environments that’s sole purpose is to educate people, zoos can become a better place for people and animals
Oh no you have just been shot by a tranquilizer dart and you 're put in a truck and you never see your friends and family ever again. Well that 's what happens when animals go to zoos. Zoos are harmful to animals. To begin with, Animals aren 't getting the right diet when they live in zoos. Also, animals are not getting the right amount of space.
Zoos are a safe way for kids and families to observe animals in their "natural habitats. "Humans cannot see animal emotions and expressions, so we just assume the animals are comfortable in their manmade habitats. We don't know how wild animals act in their normal habitats, so we cannot tell if they are acting unusual or in distress. Although the animals look like they are having fun with one another in their cages, they are actually getting forced to go through breeding programs, getting less space to roam, and growing more stressed overall. Therefore, zoos are not a safe place for animals to be.
But that is not the actual purpose of the zoo and it is rare to see those types of zoos. All in all, with the continuing global threats to the atmosphere it is hard for individuals to visualize zoos as something apart from being essential to the long-term survival of various species. Not just in terms of protecting them and breeding them for reintroduction, but to learn regarding them to assist those still within the wild, as well as to educate and inform the general public about these animals and their world: to pique their interest so they will assist or at least accept the necessity to be more environmentally aware. Sure there are many possibilities for improvement, but these benefits are essential to several species and potentially at least. Without zoos, the world would be a much poorer place.

Researchers cannot learn as much when animals are captive, you can learn just as much or even more while they are in their natural habitat. While some believe that zoos are important for education, they also believe that zoos are necessary for the survival of species (Zoos n.p). Most zoos claim that they take in extinct and needy animals, most animals at zoos aren’t orphaned, extinct, or injured at all (Zoos n.p). Lastly, one big claim is that zoos help conservation of animals (Borrel n.p).
For example in kids stand up to zoos in captivity states animals are getting too expensive to feed so the zookeeper's just wait for somebody to notice and sell them to another zoo. This shows that having too much animals can harm the animals and make them starve to death and even the whole zoo. Some even sell them to another zoo even if there is family or friends. Now you might say this is a good thing selling them to have a better home, but is it really a better home or is it a bad zoo who needs animals to get visitors. I say any zoo is bad for animals.
Zoos play a role in educating people about animals and play an important part in animal conservation. While much information on animals is available through printed materials and the Internet, it's way much better being near them seeing what they actually are. Many people lack the means to travel to the native habitats of most animals, however, zoos bring animals from many different climates and locations together in one place.
